As Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month comes to a close we are still celebrating our wonderful team of nurses 💙🐾
A day in the life of a nurse is never dull – from checking blood pressure and taking blood samples, to running lab tests and giving medications. We monitor anaesthetics, place IV cannulas, care for our inpatients, support our vets, and look after our wonderful clients too.
Most importantly, we provide dedicated nursing care to every pet that comes through our doors… with plenty of cuddles, comfort, and love along the way 💕🐶🐱
We’re so proud of everything our nurses do – true superheroes in scrubs! 🦸‍♀️✨

🚗💙 Support Matt’s Mission to Ukraine 💙🚗
In just two weeks, our RVN Matt will be setting off on an incredible journey across Europe to deliver a vital evacuation vehicle to Ukraine.
Matt has been working closely with the charity Driving Ukraine to raise the funds needed to purchase and transport this life-saving vehicle — but he still needs your support to make it happen.

🚨Due to a shortage of staff we regret to advise we will not have a vet available today from 12 noon, Saturday 9th May. 🚨

We will be open as normal for collection of medicines, booking of appointments etc, but will be unable to see any emergencies.

In the event of an emergency, Vets Now Farnham, Reading or Wi******er will see our clients, please contact them directly in the event of any medical emergencies.

We will be open as normal on Monday 11th May and apologise for any inconvenience this unavoidable situation may cause.

🩺👩‍⚕️ May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 👩‍⚕️🩺

Every day, veterinary nurses show up and do something remarkable. They care for animals who cannot tell them what’s wrong. They support clients through some of the most frightening moments of their lives. They hold clinical teams together, mentor students, run clinics, monitor anaesthesia, and deliver a quality of care that makes a real difference to patients and the people who love them.
They do it with skill, with compassion, and - more often than not - without fanfare.
This month we will be celebrating our amazing nurses at The Barn💚

🐾 Bank Holiday Closure – Monday 4th May 🐾
Just a quick reminder that we will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May.
If you have an emergency while we’re closed, please contact Vets Now for urgent care.
We kindly ask that you collect any medication or food you may need by Saturday.

Important update for pet travel ✈️🐾
From today, 22 April 2026, UK permanent residents can no longer use an EU‑issued Pet Passport to travel with their pets.
Only pets whose owners primary residence is in the EU can still use EU passports.
All UK‑based owners must now obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for travel.
