It’s going to get warm…….

Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in cool coats, hydration stuff and spending a fortune on cooling gear….

If you have a dog like Zest one of the best things you can do is get rid of that extra insulation they can carry around!

We don’t offer quick fixes.

We don’t offer training fads.

And we’ll never tell you agility success comes easy.

What we do offer is a clear path forwards when you feel stuck.

Jo joined us in February 2024 with the dog that is shown in the first half of this video.

She was frustrated. Training felt hard work. Competition felt even harder. To be honest, all she really wanted was a dog that would stop mouthing her during runs, stop fence chasing, and actually focus on agility.

What Jo saw was a dog causing problems.

What we saw was a dog desperate to do better, but struggling with frustration, impulse control and understanding.

The answer wasn’t a magic technique or a quick fix.

It was helping the dog find clarity.

It was teaching better impulse control.

It was lowering arousal levels so the brain could stay switched on.

And perhaps most importantly, it was helping both dog and handler enjoy agility again.

Progress wasn’t instant. We never said it would be.

But little by little things changed.

The dog became more engaged with the obstacles and less interested in the distractions.

Jo stopped feeling like she had to micromanage every stride.

They started trusting each other.

And yes… Jo eventually stopped wearing the sacrificial ripped hoodie she’d turned up to every lesson in. 😆

By November 2024 they had won into Grade 2.

Today they’re in Grade 6 and chasing those Grade 7 wins.

But the grades aren’t really the point.

The real transformation is the partnership.

The confidence.

The understanding.

The teamwork.

The fact that weekends away competing together are now something they genuinely look forward to.

At Wild Paws we don’t focus on chasing grades.
We focus on building skills, understanding and a stronger partnership with your dog.

The funny thing is, when you get those things right, the results usually take care of themselves.

If you’re feeling stuck, frustrated, or wondering how to get from the first half of this video to the second…

Come and start your journey with us, pop us a message to learn more about taking the first step (and that’s always the hardest one).

Proud trainer moment. ❤️

Sometimes I forget that Fever is still only 2 years old.

Watching this run back, what makes me smile isn’t the result, it’s the maturity she’s showing. The commitment, the understanding, the ability to read information at speed and make great decisions on a challenging course. Those are skills that take years to develop in many dogs.

She’s still learning, still developing, and still has so much more to come, which makes performances like this even more exciting.

Well done to Max Glover and Sushi today for taking the overall win 🍣

A huge thank you to the people who help keep her feeling and performing her best:

🐾 Grace & Favour Clinical Canine Massage Therapy
🐾 Karma Fitness
🐾 Sport Dog Nutrition
🐾 Gus - Injury Mechanics
🐾 Natures Menu

For now, I’ll just sit here and enjoy this one. Good girl, Fever. ❤️

🚨 Hot off the press! 🚨

A fantastic day at the Kingdom of Fife International Qualifier in Scotland, with both Adam & Cooper and Nicola & Fever securing qualification for the 2027 GB Tryouts! 🇬🇧

These were some seriously challenging courses today, the kind that really test your connection with your dog, your handling decisions, and your confidence in your training.

It was brilliant to see so many Wild Paws t-shirts out on the start line, with our teams tackling the challenges and trusting the skills they’ve worked so hard to build. 💙

Fever’s videos to come… and they’re worth the wait! 🎥🐾

If you’re only going to manage one clear today…… may as well win this tasty championship jumping from Jason! A big champ as well with 145 entered! And by over a second 😳🥵🤒

Fever you know how to do it in style, the glimmers of brilliance are kind of more like blinding rays now 😍😍

She always tries her absolute hardest for me!

Thanks to our sponsors:

Gus - Injury Mechanics - For putting Nicola back together when her neck and upper back were horribly tight after a crazy week.
Grace & Favour Clinical Canine Massage Therapy - for helping Fever recover faster after each show.
Sport Dog Nutrition - for the customised nutritional support for each dog.
Karma Fitness - For keeping my on my feet in the crazy weather.
Natures Menu - For fuelling Fever with the best food out there!
