Paws By The Lake - Ambleside Hi! Caroline & Fernie here. Welcome to Paws by the Lake at Waterhead, Ambleside! We offer harness and coat fittings too.

We have everything for dogs that are running around the Lakes having fun! We stock great natural snacks from Anco plus lots of other brands, plus energising food from Orijen, Canagan, Lily’s kitchen, James wellbeloved, Carnilove and Wilsons Frozen food. Dog if the day was lovely Spike! He couldn't make it to the shop as he lives far away in Wales, but we did manage to get some treats to him. Hopefully next time he can visit and use one of my rental prams. ❤️ 🐾

Dog of the day was lovely Nelly Noo. She's been visiting the shop ever since I took over 4 1/2 years ago. Here she is looking glorious at 10 years old. ❤️ her 🐾 every picture was perfect, she didn't move once! 🥰

Our Story

Welcome to Paws by the Lake, our shop at Waterhead, Ambleside which combines both a Dog Supplies shop and gift shop for pet lovers (and even has a pet photography studio within our PAWS Photo business, upstairs). After taking over the business and premises in March 2017, Ian & Erika have completely changed the Paws by the Lake ‘pet shop’ into a more focussed supplier of products to suit the active ‘outdoors’ dog, and it’s owners. In addition to the regular treats, toys, foods, coats, leads and collars, we now stock extensive ranges of harnesses, walking belts, dog boots, performance leads and accessories, buoyancy aids, backpacks, and much more. We also offer assistance with selecting and fitting the best products to suit you and your dog. We do have a website, but do not currently offer online sales.
