As most of you know we are saying goodbye to our lovely Sarah from What Knot? Grooming this month but we are pleased to say that we have found another lovely groomer who is joining us in November. Her name is Steph and her business name is Tails & Tangles Lakeland Grooming.

🫶🐾 My inspiration for dog grooming 🐾🫶

Zak is my wonderful rescue pup. He had never been to the groomers and was scared of his own shadow when he came to us, so I decided to start grooming him myself. After finding my passion, I decided to retrain as a dog groomer after 10 years working in education, and have been doing bits alongside working in school but have now decided to go it full time and will be moving into a wonderful salon in Ambleside in November.

(I will still be offering limited appointments from my home salon in Kendal 🫶)

Is there anything better than that freshly groomed feeling? 🐶✂️

A tidy coat, fresh paws and one very fabulous four-legged customer ready to head home and show off their new look. 😍

Of course, grooming isn't just about looking fabulous. Keeping on top of your dog's coat helps keep it manageable and comfortable too.

But we have to admit…
The gorgeous finished look is a pretty big bonus. 🤭🐾

🍂 Is your dog leaving a little more fluff behind than usual?

As we head towards autumn, you may notice a change in your dog's coat — and possibly a few more furry tumbleweeds appearing around the house! 🐶

Many dogs shed more as their coat adjusts to the changing season, which makes keeping on top of their grooming routine especially useful at this time of year.

Regular brushing helps to remove loose hair, keep the coat in good condition and gives you the chance to spot any little knots before they turn into bigger tangles.

And remember, every coat is different! Some dogs need much more brushing than others, so make sure you're using a brush and routine that's suitable for your dog's individual coat.

Here's to cosy walks, autumn colours… and slightly fewer dog hairs on the sofa! 😂🐾

Regular appointments mean:

✔ Less matting
✔ Easier brushing at home
✔ Healthier skin and coat
✔ Less stress for your dog

Keeping on top of grooming is far kinder than leaving coats to become uncomfortable.

We never rush dogs out the door.
Every groom finishes with time to settle, plenty of praise and (of course) a well-earned treat.
Because leaving happy is just as important as looking fabulous.

Snow... In August?!

Well... not quite!

This is what happens when a gorgeous Husky gets a proper de-shed...
There was so much loose undercoat flying around it looked like it was snowing! ❄️😂

Not every brush suits every dog.
A slicker brush that works brilliantly for a Cockapoo may not be the best choice for a Labrador.
Using the right tools helps avoid discomfort and keeps coats in fantastic condition.
If you're unsure which brush your dog needs, we're always happy to advise.

Your dog's paws collect all sorts during walks...

Mud.
Sand.
Grass seeds.
Pollen.

Keeping feet neatly trimmed and clean helps reduce knots between the pads and keeps them much more comfortable.
