Little Ember was an absolute delight on our adventures this morning ⭐️ 💕
We practiced some loose lead walking, recall, and “find it” games in the long grass (and got back in time before the heat kicked in ☀️ ).

She handled all the distractions like a genius (and even helped us with a bit of “litter picking”... aka enthusiastically collecting pine cones along the way! 😂🌲).

💕 Let’s talk about Tilly! 💕

Meet Tilly – a sweet, shy little pup who stole our hearts from day one. When her lovely family first reached out, they were looking for advice on how to best support her gentle nature and help her grow into a confident, resilient girl. 🌟

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working closely with Tilly and her wonderful humans, who have shown nothing but dedication, patience, and love ❤️. They’ve consistently made thoughtful choices, always with Tilly’s best interests at heart – and the change has been phenomenal!

By introducing novelty, choice, and gentle encouragement into each session, Tilly has begun to blossom.
🐾 She’s taken small but mighty steps, and her growing confidence out and about has been a joy to hear about and witness firsthand.

It’s been such a pleasure to be part of her journey – and we’re so proud of the progress she and her family have made together. 💪🐶

Tilly’s story is a beautiful reminder that with the right support, patience, and guidance, even the shyest pups can shine. ✨

This is likely our final agility foundations course of 2025, so don’t miss your chance! This course is ideal for dogs who are new to agility and want to build confidence, connection, and control in a fun and supportive setting. Hoopers is a fun low impact sport to build your relationship with your dog and help improve their confidence. This is a perfect class for setting young dogs up for future agility.

Is your pup ready to explore the world with confidence? Join our fun, supportive 5-week course designed to build trust, resilience, and a strong bond between you and your puppy! Suitable for puppies up to 26 weeks

⭐ Star of the Week ⭐

This super little dog is Ethel!

Ethel and her owner have been working with us to help with her focus and attention out and about and to improve her recall. We took our training to a local park to start working on these behaviours around her favourite thing....water!

Ethel's recall has improved hugely and her owner is being consistent and patient, setting Ethel up for success 🩷 we still have a little way to go before she's reliably coming away from the water and eventually we will teach Ethel to 'ask' if she can go splash ☺️

Some recall tips:

✅ Long lines are your best friend - these allow your dog the freedom of being off lead and are also a safety belt for when your dog gets distracted (it happens!) and as an anchor point so your dog doesn't disappear over the hill!
✅ Practice in easy environments first to set your dog up for success but try adding in novelty as you go (the unexpected happens and that's okay)
✅ Use high value reinforcement to reward your dogs behaviour - a reinforcer is whatever your dog likes best...this is usually food, sometimes toys, tactile contact or engaging with the environment
