𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧 to take a moment this week to think about those p̶o̶o̶r̶ ̶s̶o̶d̶s̶ 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 on the front line of policing.

The front line, where once upon a time everyone started. Where you learned the job properly, dealing with everything from shoplifting to sudden deaths to domestics to brawls in the street, and somehow figuring it all out as you went along.

The front line, where you learned how tough the job really is, and where everyone started at the bottom and worked their way up.

The front line, where nowadays we’ve got Direct Entry, because not everyone fancies getting their hands dirty anymore.

First to everything but last to get any support.

Carrying the workload, wearing the brunt of it, and still expected to pick up the next job without missing a beat.

Burning the candle at both ends, spinning all the plates, and still being crucified the next day by the 9 o’clock jury.

Turning up, shift after shift, lacing up their boots no matter what gets thrown at them.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸: shining a spotlight on just how crap it’s become.
