In 2011, Old Bull Farms were breeders of the top and second highest scoring 3-6 year old BWP mares in North America. Since then, we have also produced five of the highest scoring BWP foals in North America, as well as four second place finishers. In 2014 both t
he top scoring BWP filly and colt were bred by OBF. Lenox OBF still holds the record score of 88, the highest score ever awarded a BWP foal in North America. We are also honored to have bred the 2009 winner of Canada's Royal Winter Fair Lieutenant Governor's General Cup. Through the acquisition of embryo's from world class mares, and import of quality breeding stock from Europe, we have carefully amassed an impressive band of mares. Each year, we gain more insight into sport horse breeding by closely following leaders in the sport, visiting top breeding operations abroad, and being active members of several breed organizations. As breeders, we strive to improve upon a new generation of top young horses. It is surely an asset that Dr. Johnston holds Veterinary Board Certification in equine reproduction. His passion and professional qualifications have opened doors to access frozen semen from the world's most sought after warmblood stallions. As indexed by the WBFSH/FEI and the Top 100 Show Jumping Sire Rankings, our bloodlines contain some of the best producing jumping sires in the world. Examples among them include Voltaire, Heartbreaker, Concorde, Clinton, Escudo I, Lupicor, Numero Uno, Indoctro and Contender. We are unique in producing horses that have not just one, or two, but several "modern type" jumping stallions in their pedigrees. When bred to a quality mare, any one of these stallions can be expected to produce offspring that has the potential to compete in any arena of world class show jumping.
