🎃🎃HALLOWEEN REMINDER🎃🎃
TAGS TAGS TAGS !
Halloween is approaching quickly. Fireworks are for sale everywhere.
This means there can,and very likely will be random outbursts of fireworks at any given time leading up to during the HALLOWEEN weekend and after.
Pets, livestock and wildlife can all be affected by the noise and the bright explosions in the sky.
This is a reminder to ensure that your pets tag, microchip, and or tattoo information is up-to-date at all times ! The money you spent on a microchip or a tattoo is useless unless you have registered it properly and kept that information up-to-date and valid .
If you have moved or have a new phone number please make sure that that contact information is updated!
A Tag with your phone number on it is incredibly useful specially when city/municipal offices and Animal Control are closed ! This can save you hours of anxiety and worry wondering where your pet is.
Halloween falls on Saturday night this year. Friday night and Saturday night will be peak times for fireworks.
Please do everything you can to keep your pets safe.
We have had many cases in the past when a pet’s guardian said that their dog was not bothered by fireworks ever and then all of a sudden it was, the dog heard or felt the fireworks and bolted.
Secure your gates, fences and and your doors for your pets. If you have to take your dog out to do their business, please go with them and have them on a leash.
Leave your pets safely at home .
There are lots of good sites with helpful tips on getting your pets safely through fireworks.
Do what works best for you and your pet, but please please keep them safe.
Halloween fireworks for some pets and the guardians are overwhelming and stressful.
Here are a few recommended tips…
1. _Create a safe space_: Designate a quiet room or area in your home where your pet can retreat during fireworks. Make it cozy with familiar items like their bed, toys, and treats.
2. _Provide distractions_: Play calming music or white noise to mask the fireworks sounds. You can also try giving them puzzle toys filled with treats.
3. _Keep them indoors_: Make sure your pet is safely indoors during fireworks displays.
4. _Consider calming aids_: There are various calming products available, such as pheromone diffusers, calming treats, or calming music specifically designed for pets. Talk to your Vet.
5. _. AGAIN …….Microchip and ID_: Ensure your pet's microchip and ID tags are up-to-date in case they get scared and escape.
By taking these steps, you can help minimize your pet's stress and keep them safe during Halloween fireworks.
Wishing everyone and their pets a safe and happy Halloween from the entire ROAM team🍂🧡
