Born in the Swiss Alps, Berners were farm dogs that guarded cattle, pulled carts of milk and cheese, and kept farmers company. Locals called them “Cheese Dogs.”

Coat…

Jet black with rust and white markings and the only Swiss mountain dog with a long, silky coat. Beautiful? Yes. Heavy shedding? Also yes. Regular brushing and professional grooming are a must!

Temperament…

Calm, affectionate, and great with kids. They bond deeply with their family and can get anxious if left alone too long. They’re also late bloomers; expect puppy energy well into adulthood.
