It's a LONG SHOT but........
Are you flying Aeromexico #694 departing 0125am SEPT. 5 from Mexico City direct to Vancouver?
If so, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

PLEASE CONTACT [email protected]

We have these two little doggos that want to get north so they can find their forever homes or their foster homes. They will travel in the cargo hold.
All paperwork will be in order to depart Mexico and enter Canada as commercial. GST and Inspection fee will be paid as will their airfare.
Representative from Mex-Can will assist with check in and will meet you at YVR to take the dogs.
It's easy and very rewarding.
PLEASE SHARE, so Sary and Nieve can get home. ๐Ÿคžโ˜บ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Thanks to Julia, this mama dog and her puppies are safe.
Three weeks ago Julia noticed this little tricolour and her puppies at the local Guanajuato Animal Control. They had been "donated" to them by the "owner". ๐Ÿ˜
They are safe and in quarantine at Julia's and Mex-Can has donated a bag of puppy food. The mama named "Sary' received her first vaccination after the 15 day observation period. The pups will soon start their vaccination series. Puppies are always a risky business as it is not until they've completed the full series of three vaccinations are they really immunized against the rampant parvo virus and distemper in the city. Keep your fingers crossed for them.
Sary will eventually be offered for adoption, but only after we can observe her as she grows stronger and show us her true temperament. So, please no inquiries as yet.

Rest in Peace IVY.
Descanse en Paz IVY.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’”

Seven or eight years ago this gorgeous dog, at the time named Rosa, found her wonderful home with Robyn and Mitch, who named her Ivy. They said everyone asked what kind of dog she was because she truly was a stunning looking girl. Sadly, too many seizures and her quality of life had diminished. I'm sorry she and they suffered from these events. It is so difficult to witness and it must take a terrible toll. I am ever so grateful that Ivy had the best life she could every have with Robyn and Mitch. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ๐Ÿ™

"Hi Marlene, just letting you know that we had to put our sweet Ivy (Rosa) to the heavens above. For the last 6 years Ivy was having seizures. Unfortunately her last seizure was a severe one. Out of our 6 dogs that we have had throughout our years.... our sweet beautiful Ivy ( your Rosa) was perfection in every area. Thank you for giving us a chance to adopt her. She was well loved and very pampered. Thank you again for sending her our way ๐Ÿ’•."

COCO ๐Ÿ’”
On June 7th I received this message from Lindsay.

"I just wanted to let you know our dear Coco has passed away. Thank you for allowing us to have her for over 4 years. I don't know what I'm going to do without her. She saved me. She had a cancerous lump and laryngeal paralysis. She fought until she couldn't anymore. She was more determined than any other dog I've known. She was my angel."

Coco was a little dog with a broken leg, found on the street by some tourists in Guanajuato, Mexico. They brought her to a vet and paid for surgery then contacted me a few weeks later asking to take her and found a home. I did. However, when I took her to my regular vet, they did x-rays and found the plate had been inserted very poorly with improper alignment, so we opted to amputate her front leg.
Enter Lindsay and Coco's life changed forever. She was such a darling, affectionate little dog.
Thank you Lindsay, for caring for her and loving her so much.
I am forever grateful.

Rest in Peace
Descanses en Paz

On June 15th lovely, sweet Mati passed peacefully, leaving behind her people family Caleb, Alysa and Jaxon, and canine "sister" Maggie.
Mati was a rescued stray from Guanajuato, Mexico that made her way to Victoria, B.C. and eventually found her forever home in Langford. Being a nervous girl, Mati did learned to relax with her family and experienced love and adventure like never before. She and Maggie enjoyed a quiet family life and plenty of fun, hiking, playing, camping. Sadly, Mati developed several health conditions include heart issues and went downhill quickly. Her family gave her their final gift, a peaceful exit. Thank you.

From Caleb and Alysa: "We lost our little princess on Monday. Thank you for allowing us to love her so deeply . We miss her so much and are so grateful for the 4 years we had with her. She gave us so much joy watching her blossom out of the nervous little girl we first met. So much thanks to you and all the volunteers that helped her find her place for her senior years. Weโ€™re so glad we got the years we did."

There were many legs to her journey but Desi is now in her forever home!
Back in November Desi was surrendered by her owner to the vet clinic we routinely use in Guanajuato who called me to see if I could take her in as they considered her very adoptable. She stayed with me at my home/shelter for five months. We flew from Leon to Puerto Vallarta and on to Vancouver, stayed the night and took the ferry to Victoria. Desi then spent three weeks in a wonderful foster home with Tammy, then on to Kelowna thanks to Susan so kindly giving her a ride. Desi was picked up by her adopter Karen and rode to her new forever home in the Kootenays.
Wow, what a journey little Desi!
Have a wonderful life little sweetie! โค๏ธ

Thank you PAULINE AND LUC for adopting this little gem of a dog, NOVA (formerly Morena). ๐Ÿ’“.

Nova met Pauline when Tania brought her into Four Paws Pet Grocery & Boutique while looking after her for a few days. That's when the magic began and shortly afterwards Pauline and Luc began the two-week trial period with Nova.

Many thanks as well to Julia Salido in Guanajuato who had the opportunity to take in a few neglected small dogs from a hoarding situation and allow Mex-Can to offer them for adoption. And, to Jess (adopter of Poly, now George) for fostering her in Victoria.
