Whispering Willow Acres

Whispering Willow Acres 3 sisters got inspired by 2 horses to do something they love doing, sharing their passion with others

Whispering Willow Acres was created by three sisters to help keep rural life and farm life alive while doing something they truly love. All three of us grew up with horses and helping out on their grandpa's farm. We created this page to keep people up to date on what's happening with Whispering Willow Acres and to post any services or sale items that may be available (horses, tack, etc.) An introd

Jessica took her degree in Rangeland and Wildlife Resources at the University of Alberta. She now has a family of get own and they farm both grain and cattle. She has been involved with training miniature horses and Clydesdales. Was a member of 4-H both in the Beef club and Draft horse project where she learnt many skills she still uses today. Her goal is to continue on raising horses and cattle while promoting good pasture management and environmental protection. She is striving to raise cattle that 4H members can use while creating a female that is quiet and raises a heck of a calf. Savanna is just finishing up get certificate in OH&S and is ready to go do some auditing. She grew up in the 4-H Light Horse Club where she fine tuned her riding abilities and today she still loves riding and working with saddle horses. She has helped her big sister around the ranch with the horses and likes to help her grandpa with the young horses. She owns her own working cow horse and would like to continue to work on her cattle skills and continue on in the working cow horse world. Stephanie finished up her business diploma and has been working steady since. She grew up riding her little pony Two-bits and could be found tagging along with her sister for a ride. She also has been a strong member in 4-H both in the light horse club, sheep club and outdoor club. She has always loved the outdoors and enjoys every moment spent outside. She enjoys every aspect of the farm life and helps her sisters out both by driving horses and going out for rides. Her baby cow Cora is all grown up now and she gets to come for frequent visits to the farm to see her and all the baby calves. All three sisters want to see their farm grow and want to promote strong Rangeland Stewardship to protect the natural landscape while holding onto the farm life. They want to promote many different livestock breeds from Miniature Horses, Quarter Horses, Clydesdales, Sheep and Commercial Cattle while staying local in the Vermilion area.

🌸Happy Mother’s Day from our farm to yours!

Today we’re celebrating all the amazing moms — human and animal alike. From a cow and her calf 🐄🐮 to a mini mare and her foal 🐴🍼, we’re reminded daily of the love, patience, and care that mothers bring to the world.

Thank you to all the moms who nurture and guide — we’re grateful for you!🌸❤️

May the Fourth Be With Moo, Neigh, and Cluck!
Out here on the farm, the Force is strong — our cows graze like Banthas under thebtwin moons (jk only one 😉), our horses have more horsepower than a podracer, and our chickens? They’re plotting their rise as the next Jedi Order (egg-sactly).
From pasture to poultry pen, we’re proud to raise the animals that keep people fed.

Calving season is in full swing, and the barn is bouncing with babies!
We’ve got 17 calves on the ground and are about 35% through the season — and so far, things are going great! The mamas are rocking it, the babies are thriving, and the kids are LOVING every minute of it.

There’s been plenty of calf cuddles, name debates, and wide-eyed wonder as our little farmers-in-training check in on the newest arrivals. Spring on the farm is pure magic, and we’re soaking it all in (with a bit of mud, of course).

Stay tuned — more babies on the way, and more farmyard fun to come!

Spa Day for the Mommas!

Every year, we make sure our hardworking ladies get a little extra care—because healthy hooves mean happy, comfortable cows! While most of our herd wears their hooves naturally, there are always a few that need a quick touch-up. A routine trim keeps them moving well, prevents lameness, and ensures they stay in top shape for the season ahead.

Hoof health is a crucial part of cattle care, especially for our high-producing girls. Overgrown or uneven hooves can lead to discomfort, joint stress, and even mobility issues. By catching minor problems early, we help prevent bigger issues down the road.

It’s a simple but important step in maintaining their overall well-being, and we love seeing them walk away feeling their best!

New Adventures for Minnie & Pumpkin

Today, we dropped off Minnie, our Jersey cow, and Pumpkin, our miniature horse, at their new home. While the farm will feel a little different without them, we’re happy to see them settle in with a great family. Wishing them all the best in their next chapter!

This makes us excited for our own calving season to come!

Like mother, like grandmother! There’s nothing better than seeing the first calf from a heifer sold to a 4-Her—and this one is a perfect carbon copy of both her momma and grand-dam.

We can’t wait to see this heifer shine in the show ring! ✨

Today was the big day for Seamus—his coming-of-age vet visit! As Bob Barker always said, 'Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered.' While Seamus isn’t exactly a pet, it’s all about setting him up to keep his mellow cool attitude. 😎
