Whispering Willow Acres

Whispering Willow Acres 3 sisters got inspired by 2 horses to do something they love doing, sharing their passion with others

Whispering Willow Acres was created by three sisters to help keep rural life and farm life alive while doing something they truly love. All three of us grew up with horses and helping out on their grandpa's farm. We created this page to keep people up to date on what's happening with Whispering Willow Acres and to post any services or sale items that may be available (horses, tack, etc.) An introd

uction to the three sisters...

Jessica took her degree in Rangeland and Wildlife Resources at the University of Alberta. She now has a family of get own and they farm both grain and cattle. She has been involved with training miniature horses and Clydesdales. Was a member of 4-H both in the Beef club and Draft horse project where she learnt many skills she still uses today. Her goal is to continue on raising horses and cattle while promoting good pasture management and environmental protection. She is striving to raise cattle that 4H members can use while creating a female that is quiet and raises a heck of a calf. Savanna is just finishing up get certificate in OH&S and is ready to go do some auditing. She grew up in the 4-H Light Horse Club where she fine tuned her riding abilities and today she still loves riding and working with saddle horses. She has helped her big sister around the ranch with the horses and likes to help her grandpa with the young horses. She owns her own working cow horse and would like to continue to work on her cattle skills and continue on in the working cow horse world. Stephanie finished up her business diploma and has been working steady since. She grew up riding her little pony Two-bits and could be found tagging along with her sister for a ride. She also has been a strong member in 4-H both in the light horse club, sheep club and outdoor club. She has always loved the outdoors and enjoys every moment spent outside. She enjoys every aspect of the farm life and helps her sisters out both by driving horses and going out for rides. Her baby cow Cora is all grown up now and she gets to come for frequent visits to the farm to see her and all the baby calves. All three sisters want to see their farm grow and want to promote strong Rangeland Stewardship to protect the natural landscape while holding onto the farm life. They want to promote many different livestock breeds from Miniature Horses, Quarter Horses, Clydesdales, Sheep and Commercial Cattle while staying local in the Vermilion area.

🇨🇦 Lest We Forget ❤️

Today we stop and take a moment to remember those who served and sacrificed so we could live the lives we do — with our families, our farms, and the freedom to wake up to another sunrise.

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day work, but on this day we’re reminded that the peace and safety we enjoy didn’t come without a cost.

We’re forever grateful. 🌾

Some of the horses got to help out in the VMA handling lab yesterday at Lakeland College. The students got to demonstrate safe loading, safe handling of horses of different ages and experiences, how to safely load a trailer load of horses for transport and knot tieing.

Thanks for having us!

💔 The best horses in heaven have no tail💔

Even though we didn’t have Sequoia for long, he quickly found his way into our hearts. He was the sweetest, kindest boy. I truly believe he came into our lives for a reason, and I did my best to give him the best last few years of his life.

He blessed us in so many ways, and it hurts deeply that we didn’t get more time together.

God called him home today, and I like to think he’s now running free with the other greats we called our own — galloping through endless green meadows. 🌾🐴

Until we meet again, my friend. You were so very loved — the best boy a girl could ask for. ❤️

These are the last of our 4H quality steers.
All are mid March born from our AI program. They are weaned, vaccine boosters given and ready to go. They are quiet and bred to eat and gain.

Message for breed composition and more info. Speak for or come get them as they are heading to auction in the next week.

✨ Big step for little Spud! ✨
Our mini c**t had to be weaned this week, and he’s taking it like a champ. He’s been busy hanging out with his brother Nugget and the senior minis Lucky and Sequoia. He's settling right into his new routine. 🐴💛

Water has finally dried up and the grass is tired — time to move the herd to better pasture. 🌾🐄 Even in the middle of harvest, some jobs just can’t wait!

It's that time again to start thinking about 4H projects. Again we have a bit of everything for everyone from steers and heifers representing Charolais cross, Herford cross, Angus cross, Simmental cross or Shorthorn all focusing on hybrid vigor, mild temperaments and good growth rates. Previous 4Hers have raved about how well our calves grow under ration!
Our calves are born from March until May either from our Red Simmental bull or through our AI program. We try to follow market values at time of sale but are willing to negotiate with 4Hers as prices at market are high.
If you see a calf that peaks your interest just reach out and we can give you more information about birthdate and breed composition.

Will make package deals and can group similar heifers to create pens of 3, 5 or greater.

Will be adding to the pictures this next week as we get the rest of our calves photos.

Hope to see some repeat 4Hers back again this year!
