Richard Parker has landed in quarantine! You can’t meet him yet but I’d be happy to tell you all about him 😃

Richard Parker is an 11 year old cream flame point flat faced Persian cat. He was surrendered to our amazing rescue partner recently and is waiting for a loving forever home with breed experience.

Richard Parker is a chill but very independent cat. He likes affection on his own terms balanced with peace, quiet and naps. He is playful and sweet.

Richard Parker needs a home with prior Persian cat experience as he will need a daily grooming routine and some health maintenance as he ages.

If you are looking for a sweet and calm senior companion, Richard Parker would love a quiet home to call his own ❤️

Rafayel and Sylus are two of our shyest cats here at Catoro. If you’ve visited the Cat Forest lately, Rafayel was likely curled up in his favourite little cat house with a blanket of protection draped over the top.

If you’ve visited, you probably haven’t seen Sylus before. He’s been living in our towel rack in the back room for several months.

Rafayel and Sylus are starting to slowly open up to their trusted humans here at Catoro. They are both timid, skittish young cats. However, they both have made a lot of progress in their time here and we are starting to see their affectionate sides now.

If you are interested in adopting this very cute pair of brothers, please come visit them! Our team would be happy to tell you all about these cutie patooties.

Reservations recommended :) you can book in advance on our website.

Meet Finn. While some cats make great emotional support companions, Finn actually needs an emotional support human. Finn is a big scared baby who needs constant attention and reassurance. Physical touch and words of affirmation are his love languages, so be prepared to spend a lot of your day petting him and telling him he’s a good boy. Seriously, he would really like it if you were home a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

Finn is scared of children, loud voices, sudden movement and people who walk directly towards him while making eye contact. However, he is very very brave and has been hunkered down in a quiet corner of the Cat Forest when things get a little overstimulating.

Finn loves chin scratches and head butting your face really hard. He is pretty squirmy and not great at being picked up yet. Finn is surprisingly very smart and active so would benefit from enrichment activities like clicker training.

If you would like to apply to be Finn’s emotional support human, come down and meet him here at Catoro Cat Cafe in East Vancouver. We are located at 666 East Broadway and recommend that you make a booking before visiting. Admission is $18 per person and kids must be age 5 or older to enter. 😊

Rafayel & Sylus are sweet but very shy young cats available for adoption. They are our longest residents right now and have been at Catoro since August 2025.

Rafayel is a sweet, gentle and adorable cat. He loves other cats and will not hesitate to snuggle up for a cuddle with any cat who will let him. Rafayel is very sensitive and usually sleeps in his favourite little hiding spot when it’s busy in the Cat Forest. Rafayel has started to warm up to gentle pets and will tolerate a little bit of human touch.

Sylus is a shy little shadow who has been living in our towel rack in the back room. Once or twice a week I see him dash into the shadows. Sometimes you can see his eyes peeking out from a pile of warm laundry.

Sylus and Rafayel will need patient and experienced adopters who understand the needs of shy, under-socialized cats.

If you are open to building trust with these scared cats, they will reward you with their gentle sweetness and soft purrs. They may never be lap cats, but they still deserve a safe, loving home.

Advance bookings strongly recommended.

Bree and Finn have entered the Cat Forest 🫡

Bree is a female domestic shorthair orange and white tabby. Did you know only 20-25% of orange cats are female? It’s much more likely for orange cats to be male ☺️

Bree is a confident, sweet, affectionate and playful young cat. She gets along well with other cats and is good with kids.

Finn is a male domestic shorthair orange and white tabby. Finn is shy but he is very sweet and loves other cats. He would be a great companion cat if you have a friendly Va who is lonely 👀

Bree & Finn are now available to meet and adopt in the Cat Forest!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 and a half years since Annah and I took a huge risk and stepped in to take over Catoro. At the time, we had no idea if we could save it—or if it was already too far gone—but we knew we had to try. Looking back, I truly believe that if we hadn’t made that decision in October 2022, Catoro would have closed its doors within weeks.

It somehow feels like a lifetime ago and like yesterday all at once. Everything still feels like a whirlwind. From launching the GoFundMe in 2023 that helped keep us afloat, to being interviewed by CBC, Global, CTV, and even a Cantonese news outlet—it all blurs together.

And then there are the moments we’ll never forget—like coming in on Christmas Eve to find water flooding the building up to our ankles. At the time it was chaos, but now we can laugh about how our Christmas turned into sandbagging the space, eating donair, and drinking beers we found in the car.

There are so many memories, and I’m sure even more will surface when we finally get a moment to slow down and breathe.

Catoro has grown and done so much in these past few years, and it still feels like the work is never done—but we’re still here, alongside Tom, Jerry, and Alphonse, fighting the good fight.

So much love to our community—everyone who has visited, pet a cat, fostered, adopted, or simply offered encouragement along the way. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Here’s to many more years ahead 🐾

We just had 6 new cats arrive this morning and they sure are hungry! Last month, you helped us cover the cost of care for all our cats. This month, we urgently need wet cat food!

Our back up stockpile has been totally depleted by all our hungry kitties and we only have enough wet cat food in the building to last the day. Wet cat food is super important for cats’ hydration, digestion and overall health and we have 32 cats to feed.

If you can, we’d very gratefully accept donations of wet cat food at the cafe. We also have a link to our Amazon wishlist in our bio.

Brands we like to feed our cats include Fancy Feast, Performatrin, FirstMate, Boreal, Weruva abut we will gladly accept any wet cat food donations. ❤️🥹 Thank you for helping keep our kitties fed!!
