SEVERE HEAT WARNING!!
Let's keep them safe...
It's going to be dangerously hot, and that means LIMITED or NO outdoor physical activity for your dog right now!
Even a short walk can lead to heat stroke, which can happen FAST and can be fatal!
Here are some tips to help your pup stay safe during extreme heat...
🌡️Skip the walk! Yes, even the evening stroll. Hot pavement will burn. Paws, and dogs don't cool down the way we do. The humidity will also play a factor!
🏡 Play games indoors! Use hallway fetch, scent games, puzzle, feeders, or frozen treats to burn energy safely.
🧊 Make a pup- sicle freeze low sodium broth or bone broth with kibble and fruit inside for a cooling treat
💦 Use cooling mats, fans, or dump towels for dogs that struggle with the heat
🐶 Watch for signs of heat stroke: excessive panting, drooling, unsteadiness, vomiting, or collapse. If you see any of these, get to a vet ASAP
