Meet Nelson, a 7-month-old Bichon mix, at WRVH for his big-boy day… aka his neuter! 🐾💙 Nelson was a little nervous about the whole thing (who can blame him?), so he found the pawfect comfort buddy in Alfie, our gentle 8-year-old Irish Wolfhound.

Watching these two together melted our hearts—Alfie’s calm, reassuring presence helped Nelson feel safe, and Nelson reminded Alfie that even seasoned pups sometimes need a friend, too. 🥹❤️

This is what Fear Free care is all about—reducing stress, building trust, and creating positive experiences for pets at every stage of life.

We’re giving our hardworking team (and their coffee mugs) a well-deserved break this Monday, September 1st. The clinic will be closed for Labour Day and will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 2nd.

But wait, it’s also Ginger Cat Appreciation Day! 🐱🧡

All hail Cleopatra – 112 lbs of royal fluff currently seeking her forever kingdom! 🐾

This 4.5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd is:

Regal? Absolutely.

Independent? Like any true queen.

Selective about her royal court? Oh yes – peasants (other dogs) need not apply.

Weakness? High-quality treats (she will perform tricks… but only for snacks worthy of royalty).

It’s Caturday, and WRVH is here to serve you… ANGUS BEEF! 🐾🍔

No, not on the grill – this is Angus (The Beef), a 10-year-old, neutered, domestic short-haired gentleman with extra flavor in the snuggle department.

He’s a bit shy at first (like a cat at a party hiding under the couch), but once you start those head scritches? BOOM – full cuddle mode. And yes, he’s a proud foodie. We often find him front and center at his kennel like, “Excuse me, waiter, I ordered breakfast 3 minutes ago.”

Meet Larson (ID: 70196412) – a 4-month-old Mastiff mix (possibly with Ridgeback) who’s sweet, smart, and growing fast! He’s already mastered “sit,” is learning polite hellos, and is making great progress with potty training. Larson’s playful spirit, eagerness to learn, and big heart make him a fantastic companion for a loving home ready to guide him with positive reinforcement.

🐾 Sunday Dog Spotlight: Meet Dove 🐾
WRVH is proud to support our friends at the Surrey Animal Resource Centre in helping special pups like Dove find their perfect match. 💛

This sweet soul is Dove (69415298) — a 4-year-old spayed German Shepherd mix (22kg/48.5lbs) with a heart full of hope and the softest soul you’ll ever meet.

Dove has had a tough start, but she’s making gentle strides every day. She may be shy at first, but with patience, kindness, and lots of treats (her favourite!), she begins to bloom. 🐕‍🦺✨

She loves cuddling with soft toys, relaxing in peaceful spaces, and slowly learning how good the world can be. Dove is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with a calm energy and someone willing to guide her at her pace as she continues learning leash skills and building confidence.

She might do well with another calm dog, but cats are still a mystery, and she kindly asks for a kid-free home.

At 9 years young, Bea is the definition of quiet charm. She came into care through no fault of her own, and thanks to some vet TLC and a special urinary diet, she’s feeling like herself again — and ready to find her forever lap. 🐾
