Kodi the Havanese came in to see Dr. Elliot for his neuter, and he brought enough personality for the whole clinic! From the moment he arrived, he was convinced every person he met was there to give him attention and honestly, we were happy to oblige. 💕 Even after surgery, he seemed convinced he was ready for his next big adventure! Did you know porcupine quills are barbed like fishhooks? That means once they’re in, they don’t come out easily and trying to remove them without proper tools and sedation can cause even more pain, bleeding, and tissue damage.

We’ve been seeing quite a few porcupine quill cases lately (even run ins with baby porcupines!), so here’s a friendly reminder to seek veterinary care promptly for your pet’s comfort and safety if they have an unfortunate run-in with one of these prickly critters.

During hot weather, the inside of your vehicle can reach deadly temperatures in just a few minutes and started to heat up immediately after you turn off your vehicle. Even with windows cracked, pets are at serious risk of heatstroke, organ failure, or death.

🔥 Here’s how fast it heats up inside a vehicle:
• 21°C outside → 32°C inside
• 24°C outside → 34°C inside
• 27°C outside → 38°C inside
• 29°C outside → 42°C inside

Your pet’s life is too precious to risk.
