🌷🐰 A reminder to our clients we will be closed at both locations on Friday, April 3rd for Good Friday! Our Tri-Municipal location will be open from 9am-4pm on Saturday, April 4th. Both clinics will resume regular hours on Monday, April 6th. 🐣🌷

It’s that time of year again! An excellent reminder from WILDNorth about baby hares. 🐇

Find a baby hare? Leave it right there! 🐰

White-tailed prairie hares, more commonly known as jackrabbits, are having their babies this time of year. Mother hares always leave their babies alone during the day and return 1–2 times at night to feed them. This helps avoid attracting predators to their nesting spots.

If the baby hare appears healthy but is in the middle of your lawn or an unsafe location, like a parking lot, you can gently move it to a safer area, such as under a nearby bush or shrub. It doesn’t need to be a large green space, just a safer spot.

Please do not keep a baby hare or attempt to raise it yourself. They are very easily stressed and frightened, which can often lead to sudden death. They may not look scared, but we promise you, they are, and it can end very badly.

So, if you see a healthy baby hare this season, leave it right there! The mother will come back to care for it, but only at night.

If you find a baby hare with an obvious injury (e.g., blood is present or a leg is broken), please place it in a box with a towel and bring it straight to WILDNorth or an associated emergency clinic so it can receive the necessary medical care.

✅ Even-tempered and comfortable in the vet clinic (we ensure donations are fun and stress-free!)

✨Shout out to all of our wonderful clients who brought their pets in during the month of November for our Nail Trim Fundraiser! Between both clinics, we were able to make a donation of $3455 to the Spruce Grove Kinettes and Stony Plain Kinsmen Christmas Hamper programs! This is one of our favourite fundraisers every year and we wouldn't be able to do it without all of you! ✨

✨Meet Lucky! He is a gentle, oversized lap dog with such a sweet personality except when it comes to feeding time when he gets a bit pushy.

🐾Lucky started his weight loss journey back in January and has had incredible success throughout. He lost a total of 18.6 kg (41 lbs) and is now living a lean and healthy life!

🦮His brother Honor (seen photo-bombing in the background 😆) is also on the weight loss program. Stay tuned in the coming months for his own success story!
