Can’t imagine I’ll see too many of these. “Farook moose” (one of a few spellings) from what I’ve read up on it’s caused by one of a few different things. Testicular injury, low test levels or simply his balls never dropped. All of which seem to cause irregular hormone regulation. And in the ultra rare case a female moose that carries antlers. This one in particular had its balls but they had not dropped as per the hunter.
We were able to preserve the bit of clever and the skin that wrapped these antlers. After the preservation process we degreased, and prepped the surface for paints and dye to bring the colours back that this rack once had. Pretty cool project, thanks for choosing us to preserve this once in a lifetime specimen.
