A family heirloom that is nearly destroyed by a “beloved” cat….. Pictures don’t justify how bad this looks not to mention how bad it smells. This is such a process and the tanned skin just tears with the slightest bit of contact. BUT!!!! We have the solution! 🎉

This one was a learning curve as I’m still honing my bird skills along with all the skills! 🤦‍♂️. I sent a progress pic to Lucas and he quickly noticed the beak wasn’t right. He originally asked me if I could save the original beak and I said I probably could. ….It turned out it was too damaged and I stuck a snow goose head/beak not realizing the difference and since he’s a big bird guy he instantly noticed. My mistake and these things happen but I wanted to make it right. It was a mission but got the right beak on there and it turned out. Thanks for your patience Lucas.

Super rare phenomenon in the whitetail world. According to a a post from depending on region the chances of this is 1 in 200,000. Pretty cool to see first hand.

“The Ghost Buck” This is the name Sam gave to the sun-faded whitetail his dad shot in 1977 and was eventually mounted in 1978. Memories he still cherishes from a hunt with his father enough to this day and have this deer recreated and placed in his home. Happy to help and honoured to get to do this piece.

Keep an eye on this guy on this season of along with all the other hunters.

After a busy few days last week it’s nice to be back in the shop.

Had the opportunity to learn a ton of new techniques and theory from a first class instructor and world champion taxidermist

Had a great week and met a bunch of solid guys that were also looking to improve and step up their game. Thanks to for hosting and the tasty lunches each day!

Highly recommend any taxidermist attend Wes’ classes or seminars. As with any craft/skill it’s critical to stay polished and up to date with new products and techniques. Blown away with all the little things that can be done differently but make a huge difference in the final product. Thanks again
