🧦🐶 When socks are your favourite snack…

Dr. Dhawala came in on his day off to help a sock-eating pup — removing the offending sock via endoscopy! ❤️

Endoscopy can be a great alternative to open surgery when appropriate, offering:
✨ No abdominal incision
✨ Less pain and tissue trauma
✨ Faster recovery
✨ Shorter hospitalization

Not every foreign body can be removed this way, but when it’s an option, it can make a big difference!

Eight-year-old Linus came to us for surgery to remove a splenic mass, and what a journey it's been. ❤️

The mass weighed an incredible 5kg (11lb)—and the best news? It was completely benign. 🎉 No cancer. Just the outcome everyone was hoping for.

Since surgery, Linus has been thriving. He's recovered beautifully and has gained those 5kg back the healthy way, with strong muscle and a healthy body condition. Seeing him happy, active, and feeling like himself again is exactly why we do what we do.

Way to go, Linus! 🐾💙

This little man came in for an appointment today and we were all fawning over his baby blues!

Did you know most dachshund that are born with blue eyes end up having them change to brown as they age? Only a very small percent keep their blue coloring. 💙 👀

How many people does it take to get a photo of a Jack Russell puppy? 😂

4 people and 10 photos later, Pippin was still enough for us to snap this perfect photo 🥰

He came in for his second set of puppy vaccines and was a champ the entire appointment. This little man is full is so much love 🐾🩷

🎉 Five Years! 🎉

Today marks five years since Dr. Dhawala and Dr. Emma took over Garry Oak Veterinary Hospital.

In the past five years, we’ve renovated and expanded our hospital, renewed our AAHA accreditation, introduced advanced services like minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy, and continued investing in the highest standard of care for your pets.

Most importantly, we’ve had the privilege of caring for this amazing community. Thank you to our wonderful clients for your trust and to our incredible team for making it all possible.

Here’s to the next chapter! ❤️🐾
