Wi***es Famous Lena (“Carmen”)
It’s time for Carmen to find her next person.
This mare is an old soul and as honest as the day is long ; truly the kind that feels like she was born broke. She is safe, straightforward, and uncomplicated to ride.
Carmen consistently runs high-17s on a regulation pattern with very little effort. She’s a true get-on-and-go type and would be a great fit for a younger rider or someone wanting a fun, competitive horse to learn and gain confidence on.
Maintenance & full disclosure:
Carmen does require maintenance. She has allergies that need to be managed, and she has tied up in the past. She does best on a dry forage diet and with consistent daily movement. Even light exercise (as little as 10 minutes of hand walking on busy days) has been enough to keep her from having an episode.
Her allergies are the reason she isn’t currently at the top of the 1D. She prefers to cruise and stay comfortable rather than be pushed to maximum effort. She is happiest running at about three quarter speed and doing her job quietly and willingly.
I am more than happy to have an open and honest conversation about everything we have tried so far to manage her allergies, including the different modalities and approaches we’ve explored.
I never planned on selling this mare and I absolutely adore her. However, she deserves more than simply becoming a broodmare at this stage of her career. She still enjoys her job and has plenty to offer the right home.
