Today this beautiful trophy arrived in the mail, and I’m honestly still taking it all in.

I am incredibly honoured to receive the Terry Robertson Master Class Award at the 2026 PPOC Image Salon. To have my work recognized alongside so many talented artists across Canada means more than I can properly put into words.

A huge thank you to the Professional Photographers of Canada for continuing to create spaces that encourage creativity, growth, storytelling, and artistry within our industry. The support and community within PPOC have played such an important role in my journey.

And thank you to Think Tank for sponsoring this award and supporting photographers and artists in such a meaningful way. Your support helps celebrate and encourage the creative community across Canada.

Truly grateful, humbled, and inspired to keep creating. ❤️

Tomorrow night I’ll be speaking with the Images Alberta Camera Club and I’m incredibly excited to share my presentation:

✨ Whimsical Portraiture: Where Imagination Becomes Art ✨

We’ll be diving into creativity, storytelling, compositing, Photoshop techniques, and the process of turning ideas into fully realized whimsical imagery. From creative blocks and inspiration to building complex composites, I’ll be sharing both the artistic and technical side behind my work.

I’m looking forward to an evening filled with imagination, learning, and conversation with fellow creatives. Thank you so much to Images Alberta Camera Club for having me!

See you tomorrow night!

When I made the move from Ontario to Alberta, I honestly didn’t know what life would look like here. Starting over is never easy, and I truly thought I might be doing it without a community… without my people.

I was wrong.

This group right here became that and so much more.

From the very beginning, I was welcomed with open arms. No hesitation, no barriers, just genuine kindness, support, and connection. What started as colleagues quickly turned into friendships, and somewhere along the way, it became family.

The PPOC community in Alberta is something really special. It’s not just about photography, it’s about showing up for each other, celebrating wins, lifting each other through challenges, and creating a space where you feel like you truly belong.

I am so incredibly lucky to be part of this group. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Here’s to the people who make a place feel like home ❤️

Between Stillness

Some images are created,
and some are felt long before they are ever seen.

I am incredibly honoured to share that Between Stillness has been awarded the Terry Robertson Masters Award at the Professional Photographers of Canada 2026 National Image Salon. This award recognizes the top image in the Masters competition, awarded to a photographer who has achieved their Master of Photographic Arts designation and is competing at the highest level within PPOC. It represents not just technical excellence, but vision, storytelling, and the ability to create work that resonates beyond the image itself.

This piece has also been selected for the PPOC 2026 Loan Collection, representing the very best of Canadian professional photography.

This image sat with me for 2 years. It was never rushed. It was never forced. It waited until the right time, until the story, the emotion, and the stillness aligned exactly as they needed to.

There is something powerful in quiet moments,
in the space between movement and release,
in the unseen parts of ourselves that we slowly let go of.

To have that translated, seen, and recognized at a national level is something I do not take lightly.

The Professional Photographers of Canada Image Competition celebrates creativity, vision, and excellence across the country, and to be included among such powerful work, let alone recognized at this level, is truly humbling.

Thank you to the judges, the PPOC community, and everyone who continues to support and believe in my work.
This one means more than I can put into words.

I’m incredibly honoured to receive my Master of Photographic Arts (MPA) designation from the Professional Photographers of Canada.

The MPA is not given for one image or one moment. It is earned over time through consistently producing work that meets national standards, having images accepted into PPOC Image Salons, and contributing to the photographic community. It reflects both technical skill and artistic growth, but also dedication to the craft and the profession itself.

For me, this has been a long journey. Years of learning, pushing, failing, improving, and continuing to create even when it felt uncomfortable.

Photography has given me a way to rebuild, to process, and to find purpose again. To have that journey recognized at this level is something I do not take lightly.

Thank you to the people who supported me, challenged me, and stood beside me through it all. You know who you are.

I’m proud to share that I’ve earned my Accreditation in Product Illustration with the Professional Photographers of Canada.

While this recognition is new, the work behind it isn’t, I’ve been holding onto these images for several years, waiting for the right time to submit. As someone who doesn’t typically shoot product work, this challenged me to step outside my usual style and focus on precision, control, and intentional design.

Grateful for the growth, and excited for what’s next.

The 2026 EIA display is officially up!

I’m excited to have two of my images featured on the wall alongside work from so many talented artists, such an honour to be part of this exhibit.

If you’re flying out of Edmonton, you can find them near Gate 56.

A big thank you to the organizers who bring this display together each year at the airport.
It's an incredible way to showcase local photography. And a special shoutout to Railene Hooper and Theresa Bradley for all the work, energy, and fun they brings to making it happen..

Playing with old edits from a few years ago

Built in the quiet moments.
Sharpened in the cold.

Before the lights, before the crowd, before the game…
this is where it begins.

Two sides of the same player
focus and fire
calm and intensity

Every rep, every shift, every second on the ice
building something bigger than the moment.

This is more than hockey.
This is who he’s becoming.

There’s something powerful about stepping into a story.

Not just creating an image, but building a world where light, emotion, and imagination come together to tell something deeper.

This piece was about contrast
warmth against darkness
beauty against unease
connection wrapped in mystery

The fire becomes more than light… it becomes a focal point of energy, of intention, of something unknown.

Every detail was created with purpose, from the movement of the smoke to the tension in the scene, reminding me why I love creating imagery like this. It’s not just about what you see, but what you feel.

What story do you see unfolding here?
