Earlier this week we hosted a swine producer meeting in Strathmore, AB! 🐷

Dr. Jessica discussed recent developments in legislation, industry, and emerging diseases. 🇨🇦🦠

Jenny Patterson from the University of Alberta presented some valuable information about gilt selection and management. 🐖

Finally, Dr. Rienske led an interactive case-based session with lots of discussion! 🩺🧠

Plus we had some delicious pork for lunch. 😋

Happy National Administrative Professionals’ Day to our fantastic admin team! It also happens to be Veterinary Receptionist Week, but these fantastic humans do so much more than reception. They assist clients, send out orders, organize events, triage emergencies, analyze data, help with reports, do all the accounting, keep the vets in check (and on top of their paperwork), help out on farm, and so much more! We could not do it without them. Next time you stop by one of the offices, make sure to say hi!

The PLV team is so excited to be a recipient of the Award of Excellence in Clinical Teaching from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM)! 🥳

Representing the team at the awards banquet was Dr. Teryn (and baby Gavyn), RVT Tracy, Dr. Jessica, Dr. Rienske, and Dr. Meghan 👩‍🎓👩‍⚕️ We can’t wait to keep getting veterinary students exposed to production animal medicine and mentoring students who are as passionate as we are ☺️
