💙 Meet Kahuna – The Handsome Hunk with a Heart of Gold (and a Whole Lot of Love to Give) 💙
Domestic Short Hair | Full-Time Snuggle Monster | Part-Time Comedian

Kahuna is a certified cuddle expert, full-time attention sponge, and part-time runway model (seriously, he knows he's handsome and loves to be told so daily preferably with added forehead kisses💋). This seven year old big baby 👶is a total love bear who wants nothing more than to be smothered in affection, dish out headbutts, and soak up all the snuggles the world has to offer.

He’s currently on a urinary diet to keep him feeling his best, but he doesn't let that cramp his style. Kahuna is all about the good vibes, the soft blankies, and the humans who tell him he's a 12/10.

Now here’s the heartbreaker: Kahuna has been adopted and returned three times. Yep....three. And guess what? None of it was his fault😭. He’s just been waiting for the right person to come along and stick. Through it all, he remains the most affectionate, gentle, loving guy ever. His resilience? Inspiring. His cuddle game? Unmatched.

He’s basically the feline version of your favorite rom-com character: sweet, slightly dramatic, unfairly cute, and just waiting for someone to choose him forever.

💖 HAPPY TAILS - INDY 💖

"You never think you’re ready to adopt again after losing two great dogs of 15 years. But I brought my cats to CA Humane Society in May for spring pictures and saw this little cutie. After a visit with my husband, we decided to open up our hearts again.

The past couple of months have been full of many ups and downs (mostly ups). Indy is such a smart, spunky boy. He has passed Level 1 training, is currently working on Level 2, loves all his toys, bones, and special treats, and has made friends wherever he goes, but especially loves going on special adventures with his best buddies.

Thank you to everyone at CA Humane Society who took care of him before we were able to welcome him into our home."

✨ VOLUNTEER'S OF THE MONTH - NICOLE & CLAUDE ✨

Nicole and Claude started volunteering 15 years ago at our annual garage sale. The first 5 sales were only weekend sales and were held at 5 different locations. “The sales were really slow, and the money was a pity, but it helped to have a few cats fixed.”

Before the sale, once they began being held at the Pidherney Centre, the volunteers would go upstairs and look at the sale floor, it was all shiny and glasses glowed with pride of a job well done. “That was the first time we made a real impression on the public.” After that all of the sales were successful. “The best one so far was in June even though it was more difficult than previous sales. C’est Lavie”

Most of the ladies that help with the garage sale have been good friends for the last 10 years. “Honest ladies and I'm happy to reunite with them.”

Nicole, your commitment to running the kitchen section and being a cashier every single day from open to close during our sale days is amazing. We’re so grateful for your energy and reliability.

Claude, thank you for being our “security” and keeping things light and fun in the donation area. Your humor and hard work made such a difference.

Thank you both so much for your incredible dedication during our Garage Sale! We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being such an important part of our team!

Frank is in the house, and he’s on a mission to steal hearts with every wag of his tail 😉🐕! Frank is the total package: ridiculously cute, endlessly affectionate, and bursting with personality 😇.

Whether he’s strutting his stuff around the yard or leaning in for a cuddle, he’s got that easygoing, feel good energy that makes everyone around him smile 🥰. It’s no wonder he’s become a favorite with staff and volunteers, he’s just that lovable 😘.

This social guy absolutely thrives in the company of people and other dogs 🐶. He’s friendly, playful, and gets along well with most canine companions 😊. If you’ve got a confident dog at home who’s looking for a buddy, Frank could be the perfect addition to your pack 😉.

When it comes to cats, Frank hasn’t had the chance to make any feline acquaintances yet 🐱. So if your household includes a kitty or two, we recommend slow, supervised introductions just to be safe while everyone adjusts 😊.

Nadja’s story started off a little rocky 😔, she and her sister were found abandoned at a motel. But lucky for her she found her way to us, and now she’s on the hunt for her purrfect forever home 💖🥰!

This sweet girl can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but don’t worry, she warms up faster than you can say “treats” 😉. Nadja currently shares her space with other feline friends 🐱, so she’d be a fantastic addition to a multi-cat household 😊.

😭 Over 405 Days....and still waiting for her furever home 💔

Darling has been with us for over 405 days. That’s more than a year of watching families pick other dogs over her. More than a year of hoping today might be the day someone chooses her 😔.

This beautiful 2 year old boxer mix has so much love to give, yet she remains overlooked 😔💔. With her soulful eyes, and gentle smile, it’s heartbreaking that a dog so full of life and affection hasn’t found her person yet.

Darling is a bright, social girl who thrives on human connection 💖. She loves being part of the moment, whether it’s a walk in the sun, a game of fetch, or simply resting her head on your lap at the end of the day 🥰. She’s incredibly smart and eager to please, picking up new commands with ease and enthusiasm 🤓. She would shine in a home that offers her continued training or fun activities like agility.

She does need to be the only pet in the home, no other dogs or cats ❌, but what she offers in return is immeasurable: unwavering loyalty, joyful companionship, and a heart full of unconditional love 🥰.
