🎄 All we want for Christmas… is for these sweet faces to finally go home.

We wanted to join this trend to highlight our longest-in-shelter residents, promote their sweet faces, and share their stories this holiday season, especially those whose wait has been heartbreakingly long.

✨ Our longest-term cats: Edgar & Sherman — 770 days+
They aren’t a bonded pair, just two shy boys who came in together and have been simply overlooked. They’ve watched two Christmases come and go, and countless cats find their families while they wait for their turn.

✨ Our longest-term dog: Darling — 580 days+
True to her name, she’s soft, loyal, and endlessly hopeful. This will be her second Christmas with us, and she still greets every day like it might be the day someone chooses her. She deserves to wake up on Christmas morning in a real home.

🎁 Every animal in this post has been waiting far longer than they ever should have. They’ve stayed patient and hopeful through every passing season and they’re more than ready for the comfort and stability of a real home.

Jangles is lending a paw around the shelter this holiday season! 🐾✨ Today, he tackled the toughest chores: dishes and laundry. He may have gotten a little soap in his fur (oops! 😅), and the socks were especially tricky, but he never gave up! 💪❤️ With Jangles’ help, the shelter is sparkling clean and smelling fresh, just in time for some holiday cheer. Edgar and Sherman have been with us for 765 days 😔 waiting, hoping, and so often being missed💔. Edgar and Sherman are a bonded pair. Their quiet nature means they’re easily overlooked, but their story carries a weight that deserves to be seen.

They came to us from a hoarding situation in 2023, frightened, unsure, and needing time simply to understand that the world could be kind 💙. After spending time in foster care, they’ve taken brave steps forward, but they still long for a place where they can truly belong 🥰.

These two gentle souls are ready for a home where patience, compassion, and love will help them continue to heal ❤️‍🩹. Together, they can shine, if someone is willing to see past their shyness and give them the chance they’ve been waiting far too long for 🐾.

💖 HAPPY TAILS MONDAY - PATTY 💖

"She's been doing amazing since day one! She was very curious to check out her new digs after she spent some time in a washroom to relax.

She's had no issues eating her food or Johnny's food (which is the weight-loss food she was on🤣) She's been drinking water and enjoying some wet food from you and some Whiskas perfect portions.

She's inspected the cat tree and some safe places to nap. Her blanket has been a real comfort for her. Thank you so much for sending it with her!

She likes to have a bath at the top of the cat tree and she enjoys looking out the 3 windows we have cat trees or a stand for the kitties to enjoy the view.

She was quite interested in the tv and we shower her some cat tv too!

She's been taking her medication well and has enjoyed some cuddles each day. We're just letting her do her own thing & not pressuring her. She and Johnny Cash are getting to know each other and there's been no major issues. They've both been scared of each other, if anything, lol!"

Update: One of our extremely timid boys from a recent hoarding situation has been blossoming before our eyes 🥹, and we couldn’t be more proud 💙. When Archie first arrived, he was completely shut down, a sweet soul tucked deep inside a world of fear and uncertainty 😔. Everything was overwhelming for him, from new faces to the simplest daily routines.

But with patience, gentle encouragement, and a whole lot of heart from our dedicated team, Archie has been discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place after all 🥰. Each day he takes another brave step forward, whether it’s leaning in for a cuddle, exploring new spaces, or letting his goofy side peek through 😍.

He’s not quite finished with his journey yet, but he’s well on his way to becoming exactly who we always knew he was: an affectionate, soft hearted love bug with so much joy to give 💙🐾. Watching Archie’s transformation has been nothing short of inspiring, proof that with compassion and time, even the most frightened animals can learn to trust again!

Our tiny elf has been busy stocking the shelves and organizing cans to make sure every kitty at CAHumane enjoys a delicious, nutritious meal this holiday season. From savory pâtés to fishy favorites, Jangles is making sure no whisker goes hungry and every cat’s tummy is full of holiday cheer.

He’s spreading cheer one can at a time, making mealtime extra special for our feline friends. And just like Santa checking his list twice, Jangles is double-checking that every cat has enough to eat because no one wants a hungry kitty on Christmas morning!

🐱🧹 Jangles Is Helping Clean the Cats! 🧹🐱

Today, our tiny holiday helper decided to join the cat care team, and what a busy morning he’s had! Jangles has been “assisting” with brushing, tidying up cat condos, and making sure every feline friend gets a little extra attention.

He’s been dodging swatting paws, handing out chin scratches, and trying his best to keep up with the cats who insist on helping by sitting directly on whatever he’s working on. Despite the chaos, he’s determined to make sure every kitty feels pampered and cozy for the holidays.

Our cats are loving the extra enrichment (and the novelty of a tiny elf in their space), and Jangles is proudly covered in fluff as proof of a job well done!

🥰 Hey there! I'm Ivy! I'm a 1 year old lab mix with a heart full of love! I can be a little shy when meeting new people first but don't worry, give me a few minutes and I'll warm up quicker than you can say "walkies"!

I get along well with most dogs! As for cats, the jury is still out! I’ve been working on my basic training, and I’m learning fast 😁! Sit, stay, and good manners are my new favorite things, and I’d be thrilled if my forever family continued helping me grow into the best dog I can be 😊.

What I really dream about is having a loving home where I can feel safe, explore my surroundings, and snuggle up after a fun day 💙!
