This one is really special to us 🤍

The Complete K9 started with Don and Colleen, my parents, long before Four Roots existed. Their passion, values, and belief in doing things the right way laid the foundation for everything we do today.

While they’re no longer part of the day-to-day operations, they remain a huge part of our why. Our biggest supporters. Our sounding board. Our roots.

They’ve created a single-ingredient, freeze-dried treat line. Simple, purposeful, and made with the same integrity The Complete K9 has always stood for.

Seeing their treats on the shelves of our store feels like a full-circle moment, carrying products made by the very people who inspired this journey in the first place.

They are, and always will be, an important part of our story 🐾

Today is a special day for us. On this day last year, we opened our doors to the public for the first time.

It's been a year! We navigated highs and lows, changes in plans, and uncertainty. But the one thing that remained consistent is the support from our friends, family, and the Four Roots community.

We want to thank you all for supporting us over the last year. We are so encouraged by your excitement and trust in us to feed your furry family members. We can't wait to see what year 2 has in store for us!

We added a few mouths to our daily routine so I thought I would share what we feed our three cats and one Golden Retriever.

We always rotate proteins throughout the week, changing out the base frequently and adding lots of toppers (chicken hearts, salmon fillets, quail eggs, herring etc).

One of the things I (Amanda) love about running a small business is learning to do new things.

But I hate it at first. There's always resistance to start. It feels hard to find the time it takes to put into new things and there is always the feeling of imposter syndrome. The initial push is a struggle.

But once you push through those uncomfortable feelings, the feeling of accomplishing something you couldn't do the day before outweighs all those initial gross feelings.

Bonus points for finding people to do it with and shares the same vision. Even when visions are not perfectly aligned, the two can come together in creative harmony. 🥰

These are behind the scenes snapshots of Melissa and I working together to capture the new Four Roots blends. This was a first for me and it was a lot of fun getting to hang out and having everything come together to show off the products we are proud to share with you!

Same food you trust, new website to order from for delivery to your door. Read on for the details ⬇️⬇️

Back in November, we announced that would be the delivery partner for both Four Roots and The Complete K9. We had to put the transition on hold for a moment, but that moment of transition has finally arrived.

For those who have ordered from us in the last year, you will have received a notice about the new delivery process. In case you missed it, effective immediately will be delivering all online orders of The Complete K9 (TCK9).

Melissa and Hauke continue their work to uphold the TCK9 legacy through the Four Roots facility. This transition will allow them to focus on managing distribution to retail partners around Alberta and working with the production team at Family Meats to uphold manufacturing standards.

The high-quality products & recipes you rely on from The Complete K9 will remain the same.

You will continue to support the TCK9 brand and the people who helped build it up. For those who don't know, Melissa's family started The Complete K9!
