This weekend I am attending West Coast Groom Fest in Chilliwack, BC.
This is an opportunity for me to compete, network and learn all the latest and greatest products and techniques to keep your pets not only looking good, but safe and comfortable.
From May 29th through June 1st the salon will be closed while I hone my craft! During this time I will be unable to respond to messages or phone calls. Thank you for your patience!

I’m officially back to work! Please be patient with me when it comes to messages. My dog had her puppies on the 8th and that’s been an extra layer on an already busy time! If I haven’t replied in a few days, please message me again. I get a lot of messages and sometimes messages disappear or get lost. I don’t have ducks to get in a row right now, I’ve got squirrels and they’re at a rave!

Recovery Update

Hi everyone! After a follow-up with my surgeon, despite my protests I need to stick to strict lifting restrictions for 6 weeks. Because of that, I’ll be resuming full grooming services the second week of April instead of my original plan to return the 23rd of March.

I’ll do my best to fit in cancelled appointments as my recovery allows, but I will not be able to reschedule every missed appointment. I will start slowly scheduling for my return in a week or so from now. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding — I can’t wait to see all your pets again safely and at full capacity!

SCHEDULE UPDATE:
All appointments that fell in my recovery window have been cancelled and re-scheduled to prior to my procedure (February 27th) if possible.
So, what happens now?
My approximate return to work date is March 23rd. I will have lifting restrictions until April 8th. This means I will move small dogs forward in the schedule and large dogs back in the schedule to after April 8th.
For now I will not be moving any appointments for my return to work until some point after February 27th. This is because I don't have time at this stage to move all those appointments before my procedure and secondly I want to see how I feel afterwards. If I feel well enough to return to work a little early, I would like to do so.
So please don't expect any schedule shuffling to start until around March 10th.

I am seeing a huge increase in the amount of dogs coming in with lice. Dog lice are very common in Prince George!
As a result the new policy on lice will be as follows:
1. The groom will be stopped immediately on the discovery of lice and the dog will be sent home.
2. The salon must be thoroughly disinfected with environmental insecticide spray which is expensive!
3. A $45 cleaning fee will be applied to cover the cost of the disinfectants that must be used to prevent the spread of lice to other pets.

Please do dicuss with your veterinarian the best preventative for lice for your dog.

Hi everyone 💛

I wanted to let you all know that I will be having surgery on February 27th and will need to take three weeks off to properly recover. My tentative return date will be the week of March 22nd.

Over the next couple of weeks before surgery, I’ll be doing my best to move as many appointments forward as is reasonable, without pushing myself too hard. That said, some appointments during my recovery window may need to skip a cycle or be completed elsewhere. If you need an alternative during that time, I recommend The Bark Shop or Proud Paws Grooming.

When I return to work, I will still have lifting restrictions for an additional three weeks, which means:

I will not be able to groom medium/large dogs during that period

Small dogs will be scheduled first

Large/medium dogs will be rebooked a little farther out.

This is a temporary adjustment, but it’s very important that I follow my surgeon’s recovery plan. Rushing healing could lead to complications and a much longer absence, which I want to avoid for everyone’s sake.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding while I navigate this (slightly complex!) scheduling shuffle. I’ll be reaching out individually where changes are needed, and I promise I’m doing my absolute best to be fair and thoughtful with everyone’s appointments.

Merry Christmas 🎄 Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 🥳
The Fur Tree will be CLOSED from December 24th through January 6th for some much needed rest.

I want to sincerely thank all of you for your patronage, patience while I fight some illness and for all the cards, gifts and goodies you have brought me. Without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I love everyday. Thank you.

For those who have been asking, the schedule for the New Year is done, all I need to do is enter it into the booking software.
