Meet Tilly 🐾
Tilly is one of those cats you really need to meet outside of the Centre to fully appreciate. She can be a shy gal here and doesn’t exactly go out of her way to show adopters just how lovely she is. Thankfully, her foster home has given us a peek at the real Tilly - and there is so much to love about this girl.
Tilly came into our care heavily pregnant and went on to raise six beautiful kittens like an absolute champ. She did the mom thing. She did it well. Her babies have now packed their tiny imaginary suitcases and headed off on adventures of their own, and Tilly has officially clocked out of motherhood.
Now it’s her turn. ❤️
In a home, Tilly blossoms into the sweetest, funniest, chattiest little character. She has opinions. Many of them. If you’re doing something she considers noteworthy - or perhaps doing it incorrectly - Tilly will happily join the conversation and provide commentary. No need to wonder what she thinks. She’ll tell you.
She’s also a serious love bug. Tilly welcomes new people into her circle pretty quickly, particularly if they arrive prepared to pay the required admission fee: pets and snuggles. Bonus points if these services can be provided beside a sunny window, because Tilly is a gal who appreciates ambience.
When she isn’t supervising the neighbourhood from her favourite window, you’ll likely find her perched somewhere up high. Bookshelves, tall cat trees, the highest available lounging location - Tilly likes a good vantage point from which to quietly oversee her kingdom.
And then… THE ZOOMIES BEGIN.
Once comfortable, this formerly reserved little lady apparently transforms into a bouncing, furniture-leaping, cat-wand-chasing blur. Walls may be involved. Furniture may be involved. Dignity is absolutely not involved. 😂
Tilly can live alongside other adult cats and has done well with dogs once given time to settle in and get to know them. In fact, she seems to have a bit of a soft spot for her canine friends and occasionally becomes a little too comfortable with them - apparently personal space is more of a suggestion in Tilly’s world. She does, however, listen when they tell her they’ve had enough.
As for kittens? After raising six of her own, Tilly would like it formally documented that she has fulfilled her kitten quota, thank you very much. She’ll tolerate the little hooligans to a point, but adult company is much more her speed.
Tilly may not be the cat who puts on her best performance inside the Centre. She needs a little time and the comfort of a home for all those wonderful layers to appear. Give her that chance and underneath the shy first impression is an affectionate, playful, wonderfully quirky girl who will chat with you, cuddle with you, make you laugh, and keep a close eye on absolutely everything you’re doing.
Tilly spent her first chapter with us making sure six little lives got the very best start possible. Now it’s her turn to be someone’s baby. ❤️
