Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter This page is used for the purpose of promoting the animals available for adoption at our shelter.

The Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter is medium sized shelter located just outside of historic Port Perry on the shores of Lake Sugog. We have a large grass dog yard for exercise and playtime, indoor/outdoor kennels and two cat adoption rooms. We pride ourselves on providing all animals with daily one on one attention from our caring staff. All animals have a warm soft bed with toys and treats to kee

p them as comfortable and relaxed as possible while they wait for their forever homes. We closely screen all pets and potential adopters so we may place the most suitable pet with your and your family. Donations we receive ensure that we are able to spay or neuter, vaccinate and microchip all animals prior to adoption. Moira is a sweet, quiet girl looking for a special home to call her own. She loves soaking up affection and enjoys spending time with people who are willing to give her the attention and love she craves. With her gentle nature and calm personality, Moira can be a wonderful companion for the right family.

Moira was recently returned to the shelter due to behavioural concerns. We are seeking a home where Moira can be the only pet and a home with no young children to help curb these concerns.

Interested adopters are encouraged to contact the shelter for more information about Moira before submitting an application. Staff can answer any questions you may have and help determine is she could be a good match for your home and lifestyle.

Trixie is back on patrol! 🐾

This four-legged companion has been joining animal control officers on foot patrols while she searches for her forever home. Along the way, she’s also enjoying valuable off-site enrichment and plenty of new experiences.

Patrols continue throughout Uxbridge and Scugog Township. As a reminder:

• Please keep pets leashed — the only designated off-leash areas are the Uxbridge and Scugog Dog Parks

• Ensure your dog’s municipal licence is up to date

• Always clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly

Meet Malcolm! A friendly, loyal dog looking for a patient and understanding home. He absolutely loves being with people and is eager to learn, but does struggle with anxiety when left alone or confined.

We are currently working on obedience and crate training, he is making progress. He would do best with an experienced shepherd owner who understands the breed’s intelligence, sensitivity, and need for structure.

With patience and the right environment, Malcolm has all the potential to become an incredible companion.
