Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter

Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter This page is used for the purpose of promoting the animals available for adoption at our shelter.

The Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter is medium sized shelter located just outside of historic Port Perry on the shores of Lake Sugog. We have a large grass dog yard for exercise and playtime, indoor/outdoor kennels and two cat adoption rooms. We pride ourselves on providing all animals with daily one on one attention from our caring staff. All animals have a warm soft bed with toys and treats to kee

p them as comfortable and relaxed as possible while they wait for their forever homes. We closely screen all pets and potential adopters so we may place the most suitable pet with your and your family. Donations we receive ensure that we are able to spay or neuter, vaccinate and microchip all animals prior to adoption. We are also happy to accept donations such as towels and blankets, cat and dog toys, canned cat and kitten food. https://www.scugog.ca/en/live-and-play/Animal-Services.aspx?_mid_=102594

This cat was left at the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelters front door this morning, August 2nd 2025. Please call the shelter if you know where he belongs, 905 985 9547.

As mentioned in our previous post we currently have a wait list for cat intakes. Having cats left like this limits how we can assist all cats- whether that is a cat in the shelter recovering from illness, a cat on the wait list awaiting cage space for intake, or this cat as we have no medical background information or know where they may have come from. If you find a cat in Uxbridge or Scugog please call us, and understand we are doing all we can to work through our wait list.

Please keep this post respectful and focused on finding where this cat belongs. We would love to speak with the individual that left this cat to gather more information.

Our shelter currently has a WAIT LIST for cat intakes. Below, find FAQs about our cat waitlist.

Why is there a wait list?
Cats in our intake room are recovering from an upper respiratory infection. We also do not have cage space for more cats. There is no “time limit” for animals in our facility. That means they stay here until they recover, then find their forever home! Sometimes we run out of available kennels and need to start a wait list before accepting new cats into the shelter.

What do I do if I find a cat in Uxbridge or Scugog?
Call us at (905) 985-9547 or send us an email and picture at [email protected] to make a found animal report. Hopefully we can reunite them with their owner. If we do not have a report of a lost cat matching the description of the cat you have found we will ask that you hold the cat until we have an available kennel.

What if I find an injured stray cat in Uxbridge or Scugog?
Contact our shelter at (905) 985-9547 immediately so that we can provide the cat with necessary medical care, we will not deny medical care to an injured cat due to having a wait list.
