All of our trainers actively compete in dog sports with our own dogs — which means our training is regularly put to the test in real-world settings and evaluated against clear, objective standards.🏵️

It keeps us honest, sharp, and always improving.

Yes, we enjoy the competitive side — but for most of us, it’s not really about competing against others. It’s about seeing how far we can take our own dogs 🐕and whether we can meet (and exceed) the standards in front of us. 🏆

Every time we step into the ring, it’s like sitting an exam. 🎓(the nervous, the excitement, the whole package). And because we’re always striving for that next level, we’re constantly refining our skills, adjusting our methods, and learning what truly works.

Why do sport dog trainers make such great pet dog trainers? 🤔🐾

Here’s the thing—while we choose to compete with our dogs, we fully recognize that competition isn’t for everyone… and it doesn’t have to be. But the skills we develop along the way? Those are incredibly valuable for everyday pet life.
In dog sports, our dogs need to learn how to:
✔️ Focus around other dogs
✔️ Work through distractions
✔️ Adapt to constantly changing environments
✔️ Respond quickly and thoughtfully to cues
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes from building strong foundation skills and layering them carefully over time. It comes from developing a relationship where the dog understands the job… and trusts us enough to ask for help when they’re unsure.
Because the real goal?
When your dog thinks, “I don’t know what to do here,” they choose to look to you for guidance—rather than scanning the environment for the next exciting distraction.
And that’s just as important for a walk in the neighbourhood as it is in the ring. 💛

🐶 Pups aged 12weeks to 12months
✨ Tailwaggers clients attend FREE (still need to register)

Join us for a relaxed, hands-on Puppy Wellness Afternoon, designed to help puppies build positive experiences with essential care skills — early, gently, and at their own pace.

This casual drop-in style event allows puppy parents to explore short, guided activities including:

🫶Canine Massage – helping puppies learn that calm handling feels good

🐩Grooming Foundations – positive introductions to nail trims and cooperative care

🐕Canine Fitness – simple, age-appropriate exercises to support confidence, body awareness, and healthy movement
Each activity is run as a short, ongoing station, so you can move through at your puppy’s comfort level.

✨ Tailwaggers clients attend FREE (still need to register)
🐶 Non-Tailwaggers clients welcome – $15 per puppy (vaccinations required)

👉 Pre-registration is required for everyone, so we can manage space and keep things calm and safe for all puppies.

Whether your puppy is brand new or already attending classes, this is a great opportunity to build positive experiences that will benefit them for life.
