This is one of our graduating students, Casey, who chose to work with wildlife as her final field placement. As most of our Vet Tech students have just completed their field placements, we wanted to take a moment to highlight the variety of work available in the veterinary field for Veterinary Technicians. Most people immediately think of dogs and cats, but you can find Vet Techs working with many species.

Staff members from the Veterinary Technician/Assistant Program had the opportunity to attend the annual Ontario Veterinary Educators Conference at University of Guelph - Ridgetown Campus last week. It was a 3-day event full of activities and networking with other Vet Tech/Assistant educators from all over Ontario. Highlights included a tour of the Royal Canin Pet Food plant in Guelph, impressive use of AI in teaching and LOTS of great food and fun! Georgian College

Friday !!

"Just thought we would give an update on Peter (Pete) who was adopted by us in April.

He is the sweetest boy, very talkative and loves to snuggle. He is an escape risk... we are on high alert near the doors. He enjoys watching the birds from our living room windows or any window in the house. He loves his dog brother Oscar, and they get along great.

He's been great and enjoying his new home!"

She loves everyone (except squirrels), and is such a fast learner. She's made lots of friends, both with people and dogs. Last day of semester !!!

"I just wanted to send in happy tails update for Benny (formerly known as Sven)!

He came to us with a lot of anxiety and was very scared of people. With lots of work and reassurance, he slowly began to trust us, come out of his shell and show us his true personality! We believe our other dog, Leo, had a huge impact on him as Benny LOVES other dogs, and they quickly became best friends. It has been an honour to help him and see his growth and progress over the last year. We absolutely love this little guy and he's changed our lives in the best way possible!"
