TopDog's Mutt-e-Ssori We are Orillia's premium dog daycare and enrichment center The concept of TopDog began over 25 years ago with Kathy Currie-Eyers' dream.

She dreamt of creating a caring, learning environment for dogs. A place they could go and learn skills that would make them valued members of their families and keep them in their forever homes. With science based training, positive reinforcement and ongoing education, we have helped hundreds of dogs work through various behavioral issues, and develop deeper, happier relationships with their peopl

e. That dream became a facility in 2005, with the opening of our first location in Barrie. Since then the TopDog brand has excelled, winning multiple awards such as Barrie's Best Facility. Along with Readers Choice awards under categories of Training, Daycare and Grooming. Most recently they were honored with the Consumer's Choice award. Over the years we begin researching enrichment for dogs. That's when Topdog's Mutt-e-Ssori was born! We are a premium doggie enrichment and training facility where dog's can come to play, exercise, and learn while you work! We offer enrichment daycare, daycare based training programs, as well as group classes and individualized training and in home overnight care. We also work with our sister location in Barrie to offer full pet care services including grooming and overnight care.

We also operate Just-n-Time Rescue which is a small but loving all-breed dog (and the occasional cat) rescue that operates out of TopDog in Barrie. Since conception, Just-n-Time has helped save many dogs from euthanasia and even more find the right furever home.

🎉 Welcome to the Muttessori madness — where the curriculum is real, the puppies are realer, and the welcome posts are occasionally late!🎉

🐾 Tonka (5 months, Mastiff mix) has arrived with what we lovingly call the Mastiff Scaries. Big body, big feelings, and a cautious approach to the world that says “I’d like confidence, but gently please.” We’re working on handling tolerance, building trust, and helping him discover that new experiences don’t need to be wrestled first.

🐾 Copper (1 year, Terrier mix) is continuing his journey with us, leaning into confidence building at his own pace. He’s quite under confident right now, so the focus is slow wins, safe choices, and helping him realize the world isn’t as loud or unpredictable as it feels from his side of the leash.

🐾🐾 Lija & Willow (4 months, Basset Hound littermates) entered the program like a matched set of floppy ears and questionable decision making. Their current studies include puppy socialization, bite inhibition, impulse control, and learning how to use those long noses for something other than snack detection and mild chaos.

If you’ve the boys in recent training clips, yes, they’ve already been busy. Learning doesn’t wait for introductions around here.

Paige is the perfect balance of “we’ve got this,” “don’t take no sh*t,” and “let’s slow down and build the confidence first.” She’s a jack-of-all-trades, the calm in the kennel storm, and honestly… Jacki’s saviour more times than we can count. 🚑✨

Dogs trust her. Humans rely on her. The daycare would probably fall into raccoon-level chaos without her. 🦝🐶

Today we officially say goodbye to sweet Chewy,
A beloved big brother to Lily, Chewy was loved with the kind of devotion that moves mountains. His mom fought for every extra moment, every tail wag, every quiet cuddle, doing everything possible to keep him Earthside just a little longer. But sometimes love also means letting go when it’s time.

Chewy was a homebody at heart, happiest in his smaller circle, surrounded by the people he trusted most. And while he liked to keep his world cozy and familiar, the people lucky enough to know him felt just how deeply he loved in return.

His absence leaves a heavy silence behind, and our hearts are with Lily and her family as they navigate this impossible loss. Run free over the rainbow bridge, Chewy. You were so very loved. 🌈🐾

TopDog’s Muttessori will be closed Monday so our staff can enjoy a long weekend of questionable BBQ decisions, mosquito diplomacy, and explaining to our own dogs that no, they cannot eat sparklers. 🎆🐾

We’ll reopen Tuesday by appointment - next week is already shaping up to look like a game of canine Tetris, so if your pup needs enrichment daycare, training, or a social calendar busier than yours… book before 6PM!

Please note: email monitoring will be limited this weekend while we temporarily exchange keyboards for lawn chairs. 🍔☀️

🐾 New faces, familiar tails, and one tiny knight-in-training have entered the Muttessori halls this week at TopDog! 🎓🐶

Please give a warm welcome to our newest students:

🐾 Asher
A handsome 4-year-old Rottie mix joining us for confidence building and safe socialization work. We’ll be helping Asher grow his comfort zone one positive experience at a time, turning “maybe not…” into “okay, I got this.” 💪🖤

🐾 Millie
This 6-month-old Lab pup is here to focus on safe socialization and foundational training skills. Big puppy energy, wiggly optimism, and a brain ready to soak things up like a sponge in a puddle. 🌊🐕

🐾 Lancelot
A familiar little face returning to us after completing puppy training 4 years ago! Now this 5-year-old Morkie joins our enrichment daycare and training brush-up program. Sir Lancelot has returned to the kingdom for continuing education and tiny-dog excellence. 👑✨

🐾 Riker
Lancelot’s new 3-month-old baby brother is starting his adventure in our Ultimate Puppy Class! Alongside safe socialization, Riker will also be participating in daycare-based training to help accelerate his learning, build confidence, and keep those puppy skills razor sharp while he grows into his paws. 🚀🐾

We’re excited to help this crew learn, build confidence, make safe friendships, and have a whole lot of fun along the way! ❤️
