🐴 Dental pain is one of the most common health issues horses experience—and often one of the easiest to miss.

This week, Dr. Marks, alongside Carly, RVT, performed a dental and wolf teeth extraction on Rhett. Routine dental care plays an important role in your horse’s comfort, health, and performance, helping identify concerns before they become bigger problems.

Our Bronze Equine Wellness Package includes a sedated oral examination, allowing our veterinarians to thoroughly assess your horse’s dental health. If additional treatment is recommended, the exam can easily be upgraded to a complete dental procedure during the same visit.

Bonus: Trailer in for your dental appointment and save on travel fees.

A comfortable mouth means a more comfortable horse—and that can make all the difference.

📞 Contact us by phone or text at 204-275-2038 to learn more about our wellness packages or to schedule your horse’s dental exam.

We’re excited to have Keaira, a 1st year veterinary student from Western College of Veterinary Medicine, with us for the summer! 🩺🐴

Today she posed for a photo with the adorable Rhett, who was in for his annual exam, vaccines, and wolf teeth extraction.

We love having students in clinic and being part of the learning journey for future veterinarians! 💙 Wish her well in the comments below!

Connection is what builds strong communities.

That’s why being part of the Headingley Run For Wishes meant so much to our team. Supporting the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation while meeting the people who make this community so special reminded us why we’re so excited to open Central Vet West next summer.

We believe veterinary care should feel personal. Welcoming. Trusted. And before our doors even open, we’re grateful for the opportunity to begin building those relationships already.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, share a conversation, and welcome us into the community.

We’ll also be doing the draw for the complimentary dog/cat exam this Wednesday 👀

We can’t wait to serve Headingley and the surrounding area when Central Vet West opens in late summer 2026 💙

Say hello to Dr. Carly Prejet 🐾
One of our small animal veterinarians, and later this summer, she’ll be heading to Central Vet West when our new location opens.

Q: When did you know you wanted to be a veterinarian?
A: In high school, it was a great opportunity to blend animal medicine with agriculture

Q: What’s something you wish every pet owner knew?
A: The absolute importance of socializing their puppy or kitten in those critical first months of life.

Q: Do you have a “heart-melt” patient type?
A: Little baby kittens, all of them!

Q: What’s your personal pet like at home, angel or chaos gremlin?
A: Perfect but naughty every single day 😊

Q: Coffee or tea… and how many cups per day?
A: 1 cup per day, usually tea with LOTS of cream (just ask my hubby)

Q: Favourite Tims donut?
A: Maple dip

Q: What’s your go-to comfort show or podcast right now?
A: Outlander, I’m sad it’s the last season!

Q: Are you more of a planner or a “figure it out as you go” person?
A: 💯 Planner

Q: Favourite way to spend a day off?
A: With my kids and husband, usually in a rink somewhere or relaxing at home 😊

We’re so lucky to have Dr. Prejet as part of the Central Vet team. 🥹

Everyone says farm visits are about the horses… but Hospital Assistant Majenta knows the real VIPs are the barn kitties 🐱😂
