The Battlefords Humane Society would like to extend a HUGE, HEARTFELT THANK YOU to the late Theresa Kolberg and family. Our gratitude for the support for our animals cannot be fully expressed in words.

Theresa was a life long citizen of the Battlefords. She was a huge supporter of the community, giving her time to various charities, especially after she retired in 2015. When she had to make decisions about her estate she was committed once again to giving back to the community that she loves. The Battlefords Humane Society would like to acknowledge Theresa's generous donation of $ 75,000 to our shelter.

Furever Home Update 🐾

Meet Clover (formerly Espeon), one of the beloved “Eeveelutions” pups and daughter of the incredible mama Eevee. From the very beginning, Clover was full of energy, joy, and curiosity — always running, wrestling with her siblings, chasing toys, and then curling up for cozy puppy naps. She loved cuddles, belly rubs, and every bit of attention from her human friends. Even as a tiny pup in the shelter, she showed a playful, affectionate nature and a love for being part of a pack.

Thanks to Eevee’s care, Clover grew up strong and confident, ready to take on the world. Now, she’s thriving in her forever home! Her adopters shared:

“She is doing great! She loves all people and playing with toys. She is a loving and smart pup.”

Clover has fully settled in, delighting in playtime, cuddles, and all the love her new family can give. Smart, affectionate, and always full of life, she’s proving that the right family makes all the difference. From her early days with Eevee to her happy life now, Clover’s journey is a heartwarming story of love, care, and second chances. 💕

🐾 Cody – Big Heart, Bigger Personality

Cody may look like a classic German Shepherd, but inside he’s all goofy puppy charm. Loyal, playful, and full of love, he’s the kind of dog who lights up a room the second he walks in. His favorite things? People, toys, belly rubs, walks, and more people. If you’re around, Cody wants to be right there with you.

He’s still young at heart and learning his manners — sometimes he forgets the rules (a few accidents here and there, and a carpet corner might go missing), but his heart’s always in the right place. Cody can play a little rough with other dogs and kids, and he’s not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is best.

Cody has some separation anxiety and does best with patience, structure, and love. A farm or acreage would be a dream for this high-energy boy, where he can stretch his legs and soak up the outdoors.

He may be a little extra at times, but Cody’s the kind of dog who will make every day an adventure and love you with everything he’s got. ❤️

Eevee’s Happy Tail 🐾✨

Our sweet Eevee came to us a tired mama of eight — skinny, covered in ticks, and in need of knee surgery. Despite everything she’d been through, she was the most incredible mother to her babies (our little “Eeveelutions”). Once her pups were weaned and ready for homes of their own, it was finally Eevee’s turn to find her forever family.

Her new family sent us this wonderful update:

“Eevee has become the biggest lap dog and princess ever! Her hair’s grown back, no limp, and she’s even at the perfect weight! She loves being in the garage with me and going for truck rides. Her favorite thing, though, is playing with my mom’s dog. She’s also VERY food motivated!”

From a rough start to a spoiled princess — Eevee’s glow-up is everything we could’ve hoped for. 💕

🐾 Meet Kelp – The Cat Equivalent of Caffeine and Cuddles ☕🐈‍⬛

If ADHD were a cat, it would definitely be Kelp. This mostly black goofball (with a dash of white for flair) is a whirlwind of joy, energy, and pure personality. One second he’s sprinting across the room chasing a toy, the next he’s demanding pets like his life depends on it — and purring loud enough to rattle the walls.

Kelp is currently living his best life in our Community Room, where he lounges with his feline roommates between bursts of chaos. He’s friendly with other cats, loves treats almost as much as attention, and has absolutely no shame about rolling around for both.

He’s still got that kitten energy — playful, curious, and always finding something to entertain himself with — but he’s starting to master the art of the chill… sometimes.

If you’re looking for a cat who can make you laugh, love, and maybe lose a few pens off your desk, Kelp’s your guy. 💛

🐾 Meet Maggie – The Comeback Queen Looking for Her Final Home 🐾

If loyalty had a face, it would look a lot like Maggie’s — sweet, fluffy, and full of love to give. This black-and-white beauty has seen the shelter life far too many times: she’s been brought in as a stray three times and surrendered twice, never for reasons that were her fault. Through it all, she’s stayed the same — kind, gentle, and endlessly hopeful.

Maggie is fully grown, house-trained, and a total sucker for belly rubs (she’ll flop over in an instant if you so much as glance at her tummy). She’s great on a leash, loves people, and greets everyone like an old friend. She’s been known to make dog friends with a little patience and has even lived peacefully with cats, but she would prefer a family all of her own.

This sweet girl deserves a happy ending — one that doesn’t circle back to the shelter. Maggie’s ready for her forever people, a cozy couch, and all the belly rubs she can handle. ❤️

🐾 Meet Diesel – The Big Goofy Lovebug 🐾

Don’t let his barking from his cage and all that jumping around fool you — Diesel is a total softy and nothing to be afraid of. This handsome Golden Retriever mix (that’s our best guess!) has been with us since November 30th, 2024, and he’s more than ready for a forever home.

Diesel adores playtime in the backyard and enjoys the company of other dogs, though he’s a bit selective about his playmates. He is fully housetrained and knows how to sit — though sometimes he’ll “forget” if he’s not in the mood.

When it comes to toys, Diesel is all in — especially rubber balls. Toss him one, and he’ll happily leap to catch it like a pro. Food? He loves it, but don’t you dare toss it at him — if you do, he’ll scrunch his face and act like you’ve offended his entire family tree. Graceful? Not exactly. Endearing? Absolutely.

Big, goofy, and endlessly lovable, Diesel is the kind of dog who will keep you laughing while showering you with love. All he needs now is someone to see past the kennel act and into his big golden heart.

🐾 Meet Raven – The Pint-Sized Watchdog with the Big Heart 🐾

Raven may look like a German Shepherd/Malinois mix (we’re just guessing!), but unlike most shepherds, she’s a little more fun-sized — on the smaller side of medium, but with plenty of energy packed inside.

When she first arrived at the shelter, Raven was scared and unsure about her new world. But slowly, she’s learned that people mean love, cuddles, and the best thing of all — hugs. Once you’ve earned her trust, she melts right into you, proving she’s more of a snuggle-bug than a tough guard dog.

Don’t be fooled by her athletic frame, though — Raven is as much about play as she is about affection. Before moving to a covered kennel, she loved perching on top of her space, watching the world go by like a tiny queen keeping an eye on her kingdom. She adores the outdoors and running, though she prefers to have company by her side on her adventures.

And while she may try her paw at being a watchdog, her bark is… well… less “scary guard dog” and more “tiny sneeze.” It’s a little shrill, sure, but it’s just her way of reminding you, “Hey, I’m still here! Pay attention to me!”

Raven is a girl with both courage and softness — the kind who wants to run by your side during the day and curl up with you when the sun goes down. Could this sweet, athletic cuddlebug be the one to steal your heart?

Meet our crazy Bart-Man — Dutch Shepherd mix, small in size, giant in attitude, and the third-longest resident at the Battlefords Humane Society.

He came to us at 4 months old, full of fire, personality, and a protector’s heart. Now, over 7 months later, he’s still waiting for his sidekick… could it be you? 🐾

Bart patrols his kennel like a mini vigilante—if he were human, he’d be pumping iron, rocking sunglasses, and flexing somewhere on the Jersey Shore. 💪😎 But don’t be fooled: beneath the tough-guy exterior is a softie who lives for cuddles, belly rubs, and your undivided attention.

Found at a campground 😢, likely thrown from a vehicle, Newt has already survived more than any little kitten should have to. But don’t worry—she’s not bitter, just chill, sweet, and full of love.

Newt is mostly mellow: she loves curling up for gentle snuggles, soft purrs, and calm lap time. But she’s still a kitten, so occasional zoomies and playful chaos are part of the package—just less extreme than your typical whirlwind kitten. 😎💖
