Join us in supporting an incredible Vancouver Island cause ❤️

We’ll be volunteering at the End2End fundraiser at Chances Courtenay on Friday May 22, helping raise money for the Island Kids Cancer Association — and we’d love to see you there!

The evening runs from 6–10 PM and includes a burger, beer, live music from Big Font, casino free play, a 50/50 draw, and silent auction prizes. Tickets are $30 and available through Chances Courtenay.

The fundraiser supports the End2End Relay, where nine cyclists — including CHEK’s Ed Bain and Jeff King — will ride over 1,000 kilometres from Victoria to Port Hardy and back, non-stop, in support of local children and families affected by cancer.

This amazing all-volunteer effort raised over $110,000 last year for the Island Kids Cancer Association, helping provide financial and emotional support to Vancouver Island families facing childhood cancer.

We’re especially proud to support this cause again this year, alongside our owner Nicole Garneau, whose connection to childhood cancer makes this initiative deeply personal to our team. Tsolum Vet will be providing gear for the riders and team, donating all our proceeds from our wonderful dog wash facility and donating a couple of gift baskets for the silent auction - so come along and make some bids!

We hope you’ll join us for a fun evening supporting a truly meaningful cause 💙

This event is coming up fast!!

A familiar face will take to the stage at a childhood-cancer fundraiser in Courtenay this month and the Tsolum Veterinary Hospital staff will be there to volunteer!!! Come say hi and have an evening of fun 🤩

CHEK News’ Ed Bain plays guitar in Big Font, the group providing the rock’n’roll at a beer-burger-and-band event at Chances Casino on May 22. These guys will rock 🤘🏻 your socks off!!!

But the popular broadcaster’s musical efforts will pale beside his biggest contribution to the cause: in June, Bain and CHEK colleague Jeff King will be among the nine cyclists riding from Victoria to Port Hardy and back non-stop in the End2End relay.

The 1,000-kilometre bike relay and associated End2End fundraisers – such as the casino event – will benefit the Island Kids Cancer Association, a small, grassroots charity that provides aid to the families of Vancouver Island children blindsided by the disease.

People in the Comox Valley have already shown a willingness to support the End2End initiative. Among the ways they’re helping:

• The Chances event is from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, May 22, with music starting at 8. Tickets are $30, available at the casino. Entry covers a beer, burger, the band, and a casino free-play. There will be a 50-50 draw and silent auction.

End2End’s Sandra Boyd will be at Chances from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, selling tickets 🎫
• The Tsolum Veterinary Hospital in Merville is donating 100 per cent of dog wash proceeds (just buy a $12 token and plunk your pooch in the facility’s automatic dog wash) to End2End. This cause is deeply personal for practice owner and childhood cancer warrior Nicole Garneau.
In addition to her Paws2Paws fundraiser, the clinic is paying to clothe End2End volunteers.
Staff will be at the event helping sell 50/50 tickets.

Come and help us support the children of Vancouver Island.

🎶🍔 New End2endcancer Event Alert! 🍺🎶 Join us for Beer, Burger & Band Night at Chances Courtenay!

📅 Friday, May 22nd
🕣 6PM - 10PM featuring Big Font Band
🎫 Tickets: $30 each
👉 Available at Chances Casino or at the door the night of the event.

A big thank you to Chances Casino for sponsoring this event. Proceeds go to the Kids Cancer Association in support of Island kids with cancer and their families.

Come out for a great night of food, music, fun, and fundraising for an amazing cause!

Thinking About a Catio? Your Cat Might Thank You! 🐾🌿

Catios are a wonderful way to let indoor cats enjoy the sights, sounds, and fresh air of the outdoors while staying safe.

They can help provide enrichment, reduce boredom, and allow cats to watch birds, bugs, and the world around them without the risks of roaming free — such as traffic, predators, fights, toxins, parasites, or getting lost.

A catio doesn’t have to be fancy! It can be a small window box, a porch enclosure, or a larger outdoor space designed just for your feline friend.

Safe outdoor time = happy cats, protected wildlife, and peace of mind for pet parents. 🐱💚

Important phone update for today:

Our office is open until 5pm today, however clients may have difficulty reaching us by phone after 1pm due to an ongoing issue with our new phone system setup.

If you are unable to get through by phone this afternoon, please contact us by:
• Text message
• Email
• PetDesk message

We are still receiving and responding to all of those normally.

As many of you know, we are currently transitioning to a new phone system. While our numbers are being transferred over properly, calls are temporarily being forwarded to the new system, and unfortunately this has caused a few unexpected technical glitches that we are working hard to resolve.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we get everything sorted out. Thank you for bearing with us during the transition ❤️
