Field of Dogs Welcome to Field of Dogs! Rent our secure dog park. Let your dog explore, free of the worry of unpredictable encounters. Located 10-15min north of Courtenay.

Keep the space for just you and your dog or invite their best friend. If your dog struggles with reactivity or just isn't fond of unpredictable encounters. If you want to let your dog run free but don't trust their recall. If you want a new space to test out some of the training you've been working on. If you have limited space at home and want somewhere for your dog to stretch their legs. If your

dog has a best friend and they'd like to go on an adventure together. If your dog likes to dig and climb on stuff but they're not allowed at home. This might be just the place for you and your dog. We've partnered with The Goat House farm to provide you with just over an acre of secure field where your dog gets to be their best self. While this is a space for all dogs, we do have a very special place in our hearts for reactive dogs. We know not all dogs want to be the life of the party and we want to help create spaces where they get to shine in their own wonderful way. This one is for our special dog friends who struggle with noise phobias.

I became aware, once we had already moved in to our new location, that some of our new neighbours train gun dogs. Which is pretty cool, but not so cool for any dogs that struggle with loud noises. It doesn’t seem to be super frequent most of the time. It’s not something I have much control over unfortunately, but I was able to get in touch with that neighbour to see if there were any times or days that it’s less likely that they will be doing training. So if you have a dog that has a noise phobia, feel free to let me know when you are booking and I can hopefully get you set up in a time when you’re not likely to overlap with any training happening next door.

For everyone, even if you dog doesn’t typically struggle, if you find yourself there during gun training and you decide to leave early because your dog is finding it a bit too distressing, please let me know and I will give you a free visit at another time.

And I have also been assured that they train with blanks only, never real ammunition. So there are no safety concerns on that end at least.

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying the last weeks of summer. I’ve been away from social media for quite some time. The last year or so has been a tricky one for me and I discovered early on that when I need to triage responsibilities, social media gets pushed right to the bottom. It’s not my strong suit to begin with. But here I am with a plan to do better!

Over the coming weeks I’m hoping to put out some regular posts, sharing updates and housekeeping reminders. I would also like to spend some time celebrating your dogs! So, if you are a registered user of the park and would like to have your dog(s) included please feel free to send me a photo through private message(either Facebook messenger or email, wherever we communicate most regularly). Include their names and any extra information you’d like me to share about them. What they love most about the field. What you love most about them.

It’s finally warming up and drying out at the field!! (Still mud to be found, so watch your step!) And with the warmer weather we want to make sure the pups stay hydrated.

It is recommended that you bring your own water and water dish for safety reasons. However, if you do forget, I’ve set up some jugs of water with a small stack of water bowls for you to use if needed. Each time I go to the field I’ll pick up the used bowls and replace them with clean ones(I’ll stack the clean ones upside down).

“What have you done mom 🤦‍♀️”

I’m here at the field, meeting new clients, and have managed to lock my keys in the truck. As well as my schedule book.

I have a ride arranged in order to get home to get my spare key, but my truck will be here for an extended period of time today. If you have time booked today I wanted to make sure you expect to see me truck here. If you have a time booked today and it would be detrimental to you dog to have me show up to pick up my truck, please let me know. I will time my arrival so that it doesn’t overlap with your time. Thanks!
