Just a reminder, if your phone settings do not allow calls from blocked numbers then our vets can't call you back when you have an emergency. Please don't enable that setting! And if you haven't heard back within 10min of leaving a message please call again!

We were deeply saddened to learn this news today. Loni was such a wonderful person, so kind and always smiling. She fought so hard and was so positive throughout everything. She will be missed. Our condolences to her family. ❤️🐎

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beautiful Loni Atwood has passed away. Her decline came far more quickly than anyone could have ever imagined. She left this world surrounded by the love of her family.
For more than four years, Loni fought with incredible courage. She never allowed her illness to define her. Even on the hardest days, she was thinking about the people she loved, her students, and getting back to the life that meant so much to her.
Loni's kindness, strength, humour, and love will continue to ripple through every life she touched. She leaves behind a legacy that can never be measured, only felt.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Loni, you'll remember her smile. It had a way of making people feel welcome, giving them hope, and reminding us to look for the good, even on the hardest days. Through every challenge she faced, that beautiful smile never left her. It became a reflection of her strength, her courage, and the incredible light she carried within her.
Loni loved her dad, cherished the memory of her mom, and loved her sisters, nieces, family, and friends fiercely. Her two boys were the center of her world. She was deeply devoted to her students, and they meant so much to her. Loni cherished Darryl and lit up whenever she was with her horse, Lily. Gentle and kind, she somehow kept smiling through it all.
Loni was deeply grateful for the incredible love and support that surrounded her throughout these past four years. Every prayer, every message, every donation, every act of kindness, and every word of encouragement meant more to her than you will ever, ever know.
She was also profoundly thankful for the compassion and exceptional care shown by her doctors, nurses, oncologists, and every member of her medical team, who walked beside her with kindness, dignity, and unwavering support.
From me personally, and all of us at Ripple Effects, it was an absolute honour and privilege to know Loni and to support her in every way we could.
She truly made this world a better place.
Rest peacefully, beautiful Loni. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never, ever forgotten. 💗👼💗

We’re gearing up for Canada Day next week! 🇨🇦

Our office will be closed on Wednesday July 1st, but don’t worry, a veterinarian will be on call for client emergencies 🐴

Our regular office hours will resume on Thursday July 2nd 🎇

If you think your horse needs urgent or emergent care, call us at (250) 218-6610 and leave a message. Voicemails are always checked after hours but text messages, emails and Facebook messages are not.

Need a prescription? 💊 Be sure to request it and pick up by Tuesday if you’re not going to make it to Thursday!

Congratulations to our previous summer student Marilyn Mullan Fraser on her graduation from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine!

Members of the Class of 2026 have finished their four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. To celebrate, we're sharing what's next for some of our newest graduates. 🎓
