We get to know their needs and personalities, and can help you choose the one that will be a good fit for you. With their health and wellbeing in mind, our animals are spayed/neutered, socialized, and have had their shots - all included in one reasonable adoption fee.

Bailey cannot breathe with ease and Charlie is losing his hearing. They need us today.

Bailey and Charlie came to LAWS carrying pain no animal should ever have to endure, and today we are asking our community to help give them the life saving care they urgently need.

🐶 Bailey arrived struggling to breathe, her mouth filled with painful, decayed teeth and her airway restricted.
🐱 Charlie came to us with a growing untreated ear polyp that is affecting his balance, comfort, and the hearing he still has left.

Both of them are gentle. Both of them are loving. Both of them are holding on with so much hope.

💛 Our community has stepped up for animals time and time again, and we are so grateful for the compassion you continue to show. Today, we are launching an emergency fundraiser to help cover their medical treatment, and we cannot do this without your support.

Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Bailey and Charlie closer to relief, comfort, and the healthy, happy future they deserve. If you are not able to give today, sharing this post helps spread their story and brings us closer to reaching the goal for their care.

Meet Mr. Brix! 💙 A bright eyed, big hearted Malinois mix has been on the search for his forever people and forever home.

At just over a year old, Brix is already showing how smart and eager he is to continue learning and growing into the goodest boy he is! Our amazing ACAs spend time with him to work on his sit while he wags his tail, shines his eyes and gives it his all. Truly, he is trying to impress you 😉

This boy is full of love, energy and personality. He is playful, sweet and happiest when his mind and body are kept busy!

True to his breed, he will thrive in an active home that us ready to keep him engaged, learning and celebrated for the special guy he is.

Santa Day for Pets is coming to Lakefield! 🎅

Bring your pets to meet Santa and his sleigh to capture the paw-fect holiday photo. Enjoy a festive day filled with hot chocolate, treats, and raffle prizes, hosted by Darrell Walker and Ted Murphy of Remax Hallmark in Lakefield.

All funds raised will come directly to Lakefield Animal Welfare Society! 💚 Give back to animals in need this season by attending this event.

Celebrating Ferryn and hoping her donation inspires others! 💛

Ferryn celebrated her 10th birthday by giving back to the animals at LAWS! 🙌 Ferryn collected donations for the shelter and brought them to her furry friends.

Community support and inspiration like Ferryn's helps us provide the daily essentials our animals rely on. From cat litter, wet cat and kitten food, and dog treats, to paper towel and laundry detergent. These are some of our most-needed items, and every contribution goes a long way!

A very special adoption to share here…! 💖

Our friends Tyrone and Lauren from The Vine have been incredible supporters of Lakefield Animal Welfare Society. They joined us at Doggie Dash as a vendor and more recently we partnered with them for Thanksgiving to give back to the community by providing meals to those in need. We were so grateful to join their efforts by handing out pet food and supplies (thank you Hill’s Pet Nutrition and PetSmart for helping make that possible!).

During a recent visit to the shelter Tyrone and Lauren met sweet Ava. This moment was everything! Ava knew this was her forever and she snuggled right in. It was very clear Ava had found her people. This was a perfect match 💕

Since her adoption, Ava has officially become The Vine’s top employee, enjoyed countless walks and adventures, dressed up for Halloween, and even had a taste at a very well-deserved pup cup from Starbucks! 🐶🍦

We couldn’t be happier for this beautiful family. Congratulations, Tyrone, Lauren, and Ava! Your story reminds us why we do what we do here at LAWS! 💫
