Our pets can’t tell you when something’s wrong—but these signs speak volumes. If your furry companion shows any of the following symptoms, don’t wait. Seek emergency veterinary care immediately:

▪️Struggling to Breathe
Labored, rapid, or noisy breathing can signal a life-threatening issue.
▪️Severe Bleeding or Trauma
Uncontrolled bleeding, visible wounds, or being hit by a car requires urgent attention.
▪️Seizures or Sudden Collapse
Any seizure activity or loss of consciousness is a red flag for neurological or systemic distress.
▪️Repeated Vomiting or Diarrhea—Especially with Blood
More than one episode, particularly with blood, can indicate poisoning, infection, or internal issues.
▪️Ingesting a Toxic Substance or Foreign Object
From chocolate to household cleaners or swallowed toys—these can be deadly without prompt treatment.

It’s Coal and the Pink Ladies! 🎀

Coal is one of our superstar blood donors, and he always has a great time visiting and cuddling with his vet staff pals when he comes in to donate 💖 In this case, he was called in short notice for an emergency transfusion - thank you for saving a life Coal!

It’s springtime at Fairfield! 🌼🌸🌺🌼

We hope you had a wonderful May long weekend with your furry families! Now that spring is in full swing, we want to remind owners about common spring visits:

- Lillies are toxic to cats! 🌷 Every part of a lily is toxic; the petals, stamens, leaves, AND stems. Keep your kitties safe by keeping lilies out of the house!
- THC toxicity 🌿 We have seen many dogs this long weekend that accidentally ingested ma*****na. Dogs often find it on a walk or at the beach, on patios and in the backyard. If your dog is acting strangely, get them checked out by a vet!
- Ticks! Ticks! Ticks! 🕷️ The ticks are out and about, so be sure to contact your regular vet and pick up your tick prevention!

When you only weigh as much as a taco… 🌮

Can anyone guess how much Taco weighs? Only ONE pound! 😭 Our staff carried him around and cuddled him like the prince he is - Taco’s feet never touched the ground the whole time he was here!

How much do your pets weigh? We bet it’s more than Taco! 😆

“I want to hold your haaaand!” 🎶 - The Beatles (and Sheba, probably)

When Sheba spent the night with us, she constantly gave her paw to anyone working with her! When we mentioned it to her mom, she confirmed that Sheba just loves having her hand held 🥰 What a sweet girl!
