✨ HAPPY TAILS ✨

We are so excited to share that our happy boy, Dougie, has found his forever family!

Dougie has been one of our long-term residents due to no fault of his own. He has so much personality and we are so happy that he has a family who is already working so hard to help him enjoy life, responsibly 😉

Dougie now has a canine and feline sibling, is continuing to work with one of our favourite trainers and is putting in the work to be a good canine citizen. We couldn’t be happier for him!!

A huge thank you to his foster parents who took care of him during his extended stay in our care while also putting in a huge amount of work to fulfil his needs. An even bigger thank you to his new family for seeing his potential and working so hard to continue to make him the happiest boy we know. ❤️

Happy tails buddy! We will see you around 😘

✨ IN SEARCH OF AWESOME FOSTERS! ✨

Without our foster homes, we cannot take in any dogs! Everyday we get multiple owner surrender requests or requests from kill shelters that we, unfortunately, need to turn away due to the shortage of foster homes.

If you think you can help us, continue reading for what being a foster entails!

We specifically need foster homes with:
🙂 No dogs or cats
🙂 No kids
🙂 Large breed experience
🙂 Homes in rural areas for dogs who need calmer settings

We are also more than happy to have the following people on our team:
🎾 People with dogs, cats and/or kids
🎾 Full-time workers
🎾 University students
🎾 First time dog owners
🎾 Anyone within 2 hours of Guelph!

What foster families do:
💛 Basic Training
💛 Bring their foster to vet appointments/ training sessions
💛 Join in on events
💛 Send is loads of photos and updates
💛 Love and Nurture
💛 Save a life

What we provide foster families with:
🐕 Supplies (food, crate, blankets, bowls, etc)
🐕 Authorized Vetting
🐕 Constant training and support

Let me tell you, I can really put on the dramatics. I know exactly what I want and when I want it and I will make sure you know it by staring you down and letting out some low whines- especially when my dinner is late. But as long as you stick to my schedule it’s pretty smooth sailing 😉

In new environments with new people, new dogs, and new stimuli, I have a hard time settling. But don’t worry, my foster parents have been working on this! They always remind me that being chill is cool and that every dog should do it. It doesn’t mean that I’m not allowed to have fun, it just means that for a moment, I’m allowed to collect my thoughts, take a breather and get ready for what we will do next!

I try my best and some days I do better than others and my foster parents always tell me that that is OK because everyone has good and bad days. The important part is that we learn something from the moment!
