⚠️Take a look at this⚠️

UPDATE-This dog was brought in from the Frog Lake area, and treated in Grande Prairie. She is bright, alert and much happier now that her freeloaders have been removed and dealt with!

RESULTS- We catalogued and submitted all of these ticks. They were identified as of the Dermacentor sp. which can include the Rocky Mountain Wood Tick, American Dog Tick, and the Winter tick or Moose tick. None of them were requested for further testing, as they are not the ticks responsible for carrying and causing Lyme disease, which is great news! We do recommend protecting your pets against external parasites that are generally active between March and October in our area. Give us a call at 780-532-2902 if you have questions or would like to discuss what would be the best recommendation for your pets!

This photo shows 67 ticks removed from just ONE dog — and even more were found afterwards. 😳 These tiny pests had to be separated and submitted for testing for potential diseases.

Please note that our clinic will be closed this Saturday.

To ensure your pets have everything they need, please book any upcoming appointments and request prescription refills before the weekend. We kindly ask that you allow 24 hours for all prescription refill requests to be processed.

🚨 Emergency Care Over the Weekend 🚨

If your pet requires urgent veterinary attention while we are closed, please call 780 - 532 - 2902. Your call will be directed to our after-hours answering service, where your pet’s needs will be triaged and, if necessary, forwarded to the veterinarian on call.

Warm weather is here, and while we love the sunshine, it can be tough on our furry friends. Here are some simple tips to help keep your pets cool, comfortable, and safe:

💧 Hydration is key
Always provide fresh water — at home and on the go.

🌳 Shade & Shelter
Make sure your pet has a shady spot to relax when outdoors. Never leave them in direct sun for long periods.

🚫 No Parked Cars
Even a few minutes in a hot car can be dangerous. Temperatures rise fast — even with the windows cracked.

🐶 In dogs:
- stiffness (especially after rest rest)
- Reluctant to jump, run, or climb stairs
- Lagging behind on walks
- Excessive panting
- Changes in behaviour

🐱 In Cats:
- Jumping less or avoiding heights
- Poor grooming habits
- Accidents outside the litter box due to difficulty getting in/out

June came in for her booster vaccines and handled it like a total pro! 💉 She was even brave enough to get microchipped — what a superstar ⭐️

We also sent her home with dewormer to help protect her form internal parasites and keep her feeling her best.
