A huge thank you to our incredible blood donors who joined us for our first Canadian Animal Blood Bank drive on May 10th ❤️🐾

With the help of 9 amazing donor dogs, we were able to collect lifesaving blood products that will help pets in emergency situations across Canada. Of those donors, 7 were positive blood types and 2 were negative blood types — the more rare “universal donor” type that is always in high demand.

Shoutout to our superstar donors:
Danger, Lime, Gordon, Eleanor, Josephine, Ozzy, Red, Gunther, and Marlo

Every donor was incredibly patient, gentle, and very happy to save lives… especially when treats were involved. 🍪

We’re so grateful to the families who volunteered their dogs and to the team at the Canadian Animal Blood Bank for partnering with us for this special event.

Our next blood drive will be happening this fall! If you think your dog may be a good candidate to become a donor, registrations are open anytime between now and our next drive announcement. Please contact us to learn more about donor requirements and how your dog can help save lives.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and within the veterinary profession, this conversation is especially important.

We are asking our community to please remembers that your veterinary team is human

Both recently and historically, our field has experienced heartbreaking losses that have deeply affected veterinary professionals across the country and around the world. Behind every appointment, emergency, difficult conversation, and late night is a team of people who care deeply about animals and the people who love them.

Veterinary professionals face one of the highest rates of mental health struggles and su***de among professions. Compassion fatigue, emotional exhaustion, financial stress, staffing shortages, and the emotional weight of caring for sick and injured pets every day can take an enormous toll.

A little kindness goes a long way. Patience, understanding, and respectful communication matter more than you may realize. Even during stressful situations, your words have impact.

We also encourage our clients and community members to help advocate for veterinary teams when you see misinformation, online attacks, or disrespectful behavior directed toward veterinary professionals. Supporting respectful conversations and showing compassion for the people behind the profession can make a meaningful difference.

Organizations like Not One More Vet (NOMV)
work tirelessly to support the mental health and wellbeing of veterinary professionals and remind those in our field that they are never alone.

Our teams come to work each day because we love animals and are committed to helping the families who trust us with their care.

Please continue to support the veterinary professionals in your community — not just this month, but every day.
To our fellow veterinary professionals: you are valued, appreciated, and never alone. 💙

Kindness truly starts with you. 🐾💙

From December through May, every time our clients chose to prioritize their pet’s preventive care, it created an opportunity to help animals in need. For every spay and neuter performed at our clinic, we donated $50, and $100 for every laparoscopic spay to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue.

Because of you—our incredible clients and your commitment to responsible pet care—we’re able to give back to pets in our community who are still waiting for their second chance.
Thank you for being part of the kindness.
