Some days you teach kids how to ride; some days you teach them how to live. My job description is complex. I spend half of my time teaching life lessons, and the other half yelling "Heels Down!!" to unsuspecting children. It's a balance. Some days call for pep talks, and others call for tough love. Sometimes they need a hug, sometimes they need a push. I'll always love that part of what I do, because it is so much more than teaching someone how to ride. It's learning who they are, and helping them become who you know they can be. To all the riding instructors who do so much more than teach how to ride, I see you. You are making a difference.

We’re so excited to continue our Little Tykes Riding Program—perfect for our youngest horse lovers! 💛

Designed for children ages 2–5, this program offers a fun, safe, and gentle introduction to the world of horses in a supportive environment.

✨ Program Details:
• Saturday mornings
• 30-minute lessons
• Private sessions

🌟 What your child will learn:
• Confidence around horses and ponies
• Basic riding skills
• Grooming and simple horse care
• Building confidence while having fun at the barn

📅 6-week program starting June 6th
💲 $400 per rider
👶 Ages 2–5 (2024 birth year eligible)

This is a wonderful opportunity for little ones to develop confidence, balance, and a love for horses!

We’re looking forward to another great year of lessons at the barn and more time spent learning, riding, and enjoying time with the horses. Our lessons focus on building confidence in the saddle, developing strong riding skills, and helping riders grow in their horsemanship.

We’re excited to continue working with our returning riders and to welcome any new riders joining us this season.

One of our longtime coaches is getting married 🤍

She’s been part of the barn for years, helping so many riders grow and always being someone people can rely on. We’re really excited for her and this next chapter.

She’s having her Stag & Doe, and we wanted to share in case anyone from our barn community or followers wanted to come out and support her.

It should be a really nice night — a chance to get together, have some fun, and celebrate someone who’s been such a big part of Hidden Hills.

🌞 Summer Camp at the Barn 🌞

We’re excited to be offering two weeks of summer camp this year:

• July 13–17
• July 20–24

Our camps are open to riders 6 years and older, and all experience levels are welcome — from first-time riders to those who already have some time in the saddle.

Each day will include riding lessons, horsemanship and theory sessions, and plenty of hands-on time with the horses. Riders will learn about grooming, basic horse health and vet care, and what goes into caring for horses day to day. We’ll also have crafts, games, and other fun barn activities throughout the week.
To wrap things up, riders will finish the week with a mini show presentation on Friday afternoon where they can show off what they’ve learned.

Little Tykes Riding Program

We’re excited to get started later this month with our Little Tykes program for our youngest horse lovers! Designed for children ages 2–5, this program is a fun and gentle introduction to horses in a safe and supportive environment.

Lessons take place Sunday mornings and are 40 minutes long with just 2 children per group so each rider gets plenty of attention and time with the horses.

Throughout the 8-week program, our little tykes will:
• Get comfortable around horses and ponies
• Learn basic riding skills
• Practice grooming and simple horse care
• Build confidence while having fun at the barn

📆 March 29th start date
💲 $400 per rider
👧 Ages 2–5/with a 2024 birth year
