We’re hoping to get some community support to purchase a riding lawnmower for the shelter! 🐶

In an effort to save costs, we’re wanting to transition from paying for mowing services to having our volunteers help with keeping the yard nice for the shelter dogs. 🐾

We have a large fenced-in yard that the dogs use to stretch their legs as well as the front yard/field where our volunteers walk the shelter pups. That’s a lot of mowing! 🐕

Zorro had the best Doggy Day Out! His volunteer said:

“Zorro was a sweet, fun boy today! He gave lots of hugs and kisses whenever I sat down, he always wanted to sit or lay on me. ❤️ We had lots of fun playing in the backyard, we played lots of fetch and he really loved playing with the water in the pool! He listened really well and knows lots of tricks.” 🥰

Happy Sunday Funday from Perdita! ❤️ This pretty girl is a 6-year-old boxer/dalmatian who is searching for her furever home. She is a super sweet and playful girl! She absolutely loves being near you and will flop right over for a belly rub. She loves doing zoomies around the yard, going for walks, and playing with toys! Another Caturday cutie for you - meet Curby! 😺 Curby is a sweet, 2-year-old guy who found himself in need of a new home as his owners were moving and sadly couldn’t take him with. He’s ready to be your new best friend! Curby is a mostly chill guy who loves a cozy bed or cardboard box to curl up in. ❤️ He has lived with kids in the past and would likely do well in most homes. We have a special Happy Tail for you today! Jetta is the type of kitty who needs extra time and patience to settle into new environments/with new people, and doesn't always thrive in the shelter environment. ❤️‍🩹 Through a lot of love and care from some wonderful fosters, and an adopter who was willing to take a chance on someone who wouldn't show as well/would need some time to settle in, we're SO happy to share this update from his family. 🙌🏼 They said:

"Jetta is a kitty who caught my eye right away. We had just adopted a kitten over the Christmas holidays so I told myself that one (plus our older cat) was enough 😆, but Jetta kept popping back up on the Facebook feed. I decided it was fate and put in an application. We decided to try fostering to adopt since Jetta is very shy and we didn’t know how he’d do with 3 dogs in the house. He quickly cuddled his way into our hearts and we made him a permanent member of the family. 🥰

Jetta continues to be a nervous little guy at times. He doesn’t like quick movements towards him without warning and he will quickly scoot away. However, when things are calm and he’s feeling brave, you can find him sleeping very close to a dog or two or jumping into a lap for a cuddle. He loves his cat brothers, especially Jasper who is about the same age. 😻 They race around the house and tussle and love to share a tubie snack together.

Even though Jetta can be nervous, he is also incredibly brave. He is always where the action is, no matter what. He may watch from a cat tree or from the back of a chair, but he loves to be around everyone and is interested in anyone new. I am incredibly glad that we took a chance on him because his cuddles are second to none and when he gives them, you know that you earned them and his trust ❤️. Jetta has been a great addition to the family and we look forward to watching him and Jasper become lifelong friends!”

Talk about a Happy Tail! Stories like Jetta’s are why we do this important work, and we’re so thankful for the network of people who made his happy furever possible. 😊 Thank you so much to his adopter for sharing this wonderful update with us! Have a Feel Good Friday. 🐾

We’d like to give a shoutout to our local Domino’s Pizza! 🍕 They gave us some coupons for free pizza to pass on to our adopters as a thank you for choosing to give a furever home to a shelter pet. ❤️🐾 Pictured here are a couple of our special adopted pets from this week - Mumford and Tucker! Happy Feel Good Friday! 😊 It’s time for our weekly adoptions update. In the past week, these 14 lucky shelter pets found their furever homes! 👏🏼 Happy Tails to: Mumford, Tucker, Gunner, Bella, Folklore, Frank, Fanta, Thomas, Poquito, Smokey, Binx, Joanie, Iris, and Warlock! 🐶😺

And some special shoutouts:

❤️Mumford found his happy furever after 265 days in our care! This big guy just needed the right person to come along for him, we’re so happy for him and his adopter.

🥰Tucker is a special guy who came to us on the chonky side and in need of dental surgery. You all helped us raise the funds needed for his extra vet care, and his foster helped him lose over 20 pounds through a balanced diet and exercise. We’re so happy he’s heading into his furever home looking and feeling his best!

🫶🏼6 of these 14 were fostered before adoption! We couldn’t do this life-saving work without our amazing network of foster homes. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up for the shelter pets!

Happy Thursday from Bear! 🐾 Bear is the goodest boy who recently came to us through no fault of his own. He’s a 9-month-old husky/retriever who would love to be your new best friend! ❤️ Bear is a lovebug who just wants to be in on the action. He is playful, too, and very treat-motivated!
