🦜 A Little Reminder to Bird Families 🦜
Sometimes life changes, and circumstances come up where keeping a bird is no longer possible. There is no shame in recognizing that you can no longer provide the home your bird needs.
But before posting your bird for rehoming, please reach out to their breeder first. 💚
Many responsible breeders want to know if one of their babies ever needs a new home, whether that bird left their nest six months ago or many years ago. Your breeder may be able to:
• Take the bird back
• Help find and screen an appropriate new home
• Connect you with someone already waiting for a bird
• Offer temporary help or advice if the situation might be resolved
• Provide information about the bird's history, genetics or family that could be useful to a new owner
For many of us, our responsibility doesn't end when a baby leaves for their new home. We put an enormous amount of time and care into raising them, and we would much rather receive a message saying, "I need help finding them a new home," than discover later that one of our birds has been passed around without us ever knowing.
If you've adopted a bird from us and circumstances ever change, please contact us first. You will not be judged for needing to rehome. Our priority will always be making sure the bird is safe, loved and placed in the best home possible. 🪶💚
Responsible breeding doesn't end at adoption. It means being there for the birds we bring into the world for their entire lives.
