We are looking for donations of x-pens (exercise pens) for our foster dogs.

X-pens help create a safe and secure space for newly arrived dogs to decompress and adjust to their new environment. They are one of the most useful tools our foster homes can have.

If you have an x-pen collecting dust and would like to give it a second life helping a rescue dog, weā€™d love to hear from you!

Foster Update: Kane

Looks like Kane is starting to come out of his shell!

On a short stroll today, he showed off his playful side by hopping around, grabbing his leash, and trying to turn the walk into a game.

Itā€™s wonderful to see his personality starting to shine through as he settles into his foster home. Beneath the nervousness is a goofy, fun-loving boy who is beginning to feel safe enough to let his guard down.

Confettiā€™s surgery was a success!

She was spayed today and had a dental cleaning. The vet needed to extract two teeth, but sheā€™s doing well.

Our little lady is feeling a bit drowsy from the anesthesia and only wants hugs and cuddlesā€”which her foster family is more than happy to provide.

Itā€™s a big day for our sweet little lady!

Confetti is at the vet today for her spay surgery and dental cleaning. We hope everything goes smoothly and that she has a sp*edy recovery.

As tiny as she is, Confetti has already captured so many hearts with her affectionate personality and endless cuddles. Please send positive thoughts her way today.

A little dental health reminder: Dental disease is very common in small breed dogs, especially those that donā€™t enjoy chewing on harder dental chews. Regular dental care, including brushing and routine veterinary dental cleanings, plays an important role in keeping their teeth healthy and preventing pain and infection.

OFFICIALLY ADOPTED: LILLY

From a life spent outdoors with little care to a home filled with love, comfort, and a doodle brother to call her own ā€” Lillyā€™s journey has been nothing short of amazing.

When Lilly first came into rescue, there were many unknowns. What we did know was that she deserved a chance. Since then, she has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate girl who has embraced family life and settled in beautifully.

After completing her decompression period and spay surgery, we are thrilled to announce that Lilly is now officially adopted!

A huge thank you to her adoptive family for opening their hearts and home to her, and to everyone who helped along the way. It truly takes a village.

Enjoy your happily ever after, Lilly. You are so loved.

Please join us in welcoming Kane to Doodles Rescue YEG!

Kane is a 1.5-year-old Sheepadoodle who has joined DRY due to unforeseen family circumstances. While these decisions are never easy, we are grateful to his family for putting Kaneā€™s needs first and trusting us to help him find his next chapter.

A huge thank you to his foster family for welcoming him into their home and helping him settle in. As with all DRY dogs, Kane will be given time to decompress while we get to know him better.

Foster Update - Confetti

How can anyone resist this little face?

Confetti is proving to be quite the cuddle bug. She loves affection and would happily spend her day snuggled up with her people. Her signature move? Wrapping both front legs around your arm for a hug.

This sweet girl is slowly coming out of her shell and gaining confidence every day. Sheā€™s becoming more comfortable exploring the yard on her own and doesnā€™t need her person right beside her all the time anymore.

At bedtime, Confetti happily trots into her crate all by herself and settles in for the night like a pro.

Potty training is still a work in progress as sheā€™s used to using p*e pads indoors, but sheā€™s learning the outdoor routine with patience and consistency.

She walks nicely on leash, although if Confetti had her way, sheā€™d prefer to be carried everywhere like the tiny princess she is.

Weā€™re so proud of this little girl and canā€™t wait to see her confidence continue to blossom.

Kane is a handsome 1.5-year-old sheepadoodle who will soon be looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home.

āœØ Male (Neutered)
āœØ Age: 1.5yo
āœØ Approx. 60 lbs
āœØ Curly, low-shedding coat

Kane is being surrendered due to unforeseen family circumstances, including major surgeries and a move from a house into an apartment. This difficult decision is being made out of love and a desire to give Kane the life he deserves.

Kane is a sweet, friendly boy who gets along well with people, dogs, and cats. He has experience living with children 5 years and older and has a gentle, loving nature.

āœ… Crate trained (his crate is his safe space)
āœ… Knows basic commands
āœ… Friendly with dogs, cats, and people
āœ… Enjoys walks and outdoor adventures

Like many dogs, Kane can be sensitive to loud noises and isnā€™t a fan of garbage or recycling trucks. With patience, support, and confidence-building, we know heā€™ll continue to thrive.

Weā€™re currently looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home to help Kane land softly while we get to know him better.

Foster Update: Bernie

Bernie had her vet check today and was an absolute superstar!

Her vaccinations are now up to date and she has been microchipped. The vet was very impressed with her calm and gentle nature. She simply laid there and let the vet do whatever was needed, not even flinching when it was time for her vaccinations.

She is scheduled for her spay surgery in four weeks.

For now, itā€™s all about decompression, settling into her new routine, and getting to know her foster family. Weā€™re looking forward to watching her confidence grow and seeing her personality continue to shine.
