🕯️ Vigil for the Horses – December 16 at 4 PM
📍 12220 Stony Plain Rd, Unit 104, Edmonton, AB
Last Night yet another shipment of horses, the third in as many weeks, left the Edmonton International Airport destined to Japan for consumption. That is a minimum of 300, but more than likely 360 horses left, if they all made it alive.
What can you do to help you ask?
Join us for a peaceful vigil to honor the thousands of Canadian horses who have suffered and died because the 2021 Liberal promise to ban live horse exports for slaughter remains unfulfilled.
Since that promise, over 10,700 horses have been shipped on brutal flights to Japan—many arriving injured, dehydrated, or dying shortly after landing. Their suffering must not be forgotten.
What to Expect:
• Standing together in compassion
• Reflections + a moment of silence
• Flowers, letters, or symbolic items welcome
• A united call for Canada to finally ban live horse exports
This vigil is one of 11 across the country, as Canadians demand action and an end to this cruelty.
All are welcome.
4 PM on December 16 — let’s stand together for the horses.
