🕯️ Vigil for the Horses – December 16 at 4 PM
📍 12220 Stony Plain Rd, Unit 104, Edmonton, AB

Last Night yet another shipment of horses, the third in as many weeks, left the Edmonton International Airport destined to Japan for consumption. That is a minimum of 300, but more than likely 360 horses left, if they all made it alive.

What can you do to help you ask?

Join us for a peaceful vigil to honor the thousands of Canadian horses who have suffered and died because the 2021 Liberal promise to ban live horse exports for slaughter remains unfulfilled.
Since that promise, over 10,700 horses have been shipped on brutal flights to Japan—many arriving injured, dehydrated, or dying shortly after landing. Their suffering must not be forgotten.

What to Expect:
• Standing together in compassion
• Reflections + a moment of silence
• Flowers, letters, or symbolic items welcome
• A united call for Canada to finally ban live horse exports
This vigil is one of 11 across the country, as Canadians demand action and an end to this cruelty.

All are welcome.
4 PM on December 16 — let’s stand together for the horses.

🔥 THIS SATURDAY LET’S TURN UP THE HEAT OUTSIDE SOBEYS! 🔥
Sobeys is STILL supporting cruel cage confinement for hens, despite public pressure and their own cage-free commitments. So this Saturday, we’re showing up loud, strong, and united to demand better for the hens who suffer every single day.

📍 Location: Sobeys 167th ave and 97 street
⏰ Time: 12:00 to 2pm
💥 Action: Chanting, signs, leaflets, outreach

And it’s going to be cold!! Bundle up! Bring extra layers, hand warmers, thick socks, whatever keeps you cozy. We’ll rotate folks into warm cars if needed so everyone stays safe and energized.
This is how change happens: freezing fingers, warm hearts, and unstoppable determination.

Let’s make sure Sobeys hears us loud and clear: Go 100% cage-free. No excuses. No delays.
See you there, warriors. 💚🐔🔥

Animal Justice Mobilization teams, Leads and activists!
Tell CBC to Call Off Their Canadian Dairy Contest!

CBC just launched their “Bake it with Canadian Dairy” contest, promoting recipes that rely on dairy — but behind every glass of milk is a story of suffering.

Mother cows endure repeated pregnancies, only to have their babies taken within hours so humans can take their milk. Male calves are often killed, and once the mothers’ production
drops, they too are sent to slaughter.

Let CBC know this cruelty isn’t worth celebrating. Visit the CBC website, scroll to the bottom, and click “Submit Feedback” — choose “content” from the menu and tell them to end this contest. There are examples in the event description of what you can say.

I’ve included the link and a scan code to make it easy.
Let’s make sure CBC hears us loud and clear — call it off! 💔🐄

Monday night, five of us gathered outside Lilydale from 10 PM to midnight to bear witness to the chickens who would lose their lives come morning. 🕯️

The trucks were covered we couldn’t see the birds inside but we could smell them as they passed us by.

One of our Vancouver Activist friends Ryan Paton joined us for his very first vigil. He broke down in tears as another truck went inside.

We come to bear witness not only to see the victims we are fighting for, but to speak a kind word into the night — to say, “I love you.”

They may never see us or know we are there, but we know why we are. Bearing witness solidifies our purpose: to fight for those who have no voice, and to work toward a world where their suffering ends. 💔🐔
