VegFest Edmonton 2025 is on the horizon, and we’re calling on our amazing community to help make it the biggest, boldest, and most compassionate festival yet! 🌈✨
We're looking for as many volunteers as possible to help with various roles—from set-up and clean-up to welcoming guests, assisting vendors, running kids’ activities, managing waste stations, and everything in between. Whether you have a few hours or the whole day to give, your support makes all the difference!

🌿 VVOA Monthly Outdoor Potluck 🌿

Hosted by: Vegans and Vegetarians of Alberta

Join us for our monthly community potluck — this time, we're heading outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather, fresh air, and delicious plant-based food!

☀️ Summer is here, and what better way to celebrate than with an evening of great eats and even better company? Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or just curious about plant-based living, everyone is welcome.

🗓️ Date: TODAY
🕕 Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
📍 Location: 13010 129 St NW - Athlone Community League

What to Bring:
🥗 A vegan or vegetarian dish to share
📋 A label for your dish with ingredients (for allergies/preferences)
🍽️ Your own plate, cutlery, and cup
🧺 Optional: Picnic blanket or folding chair for extra comfort

Expect friendly faces, meaningful conversations, and a chance to connect with a growing community that cares about animals, the planet, and each other. These monthly potlucks are a casual, fun way to meet new people, try new foods, and feel inspired.

😢After years of tireless work for the animals—giving everything she had to a very WELL KNOWN Animal Rights Organization — Malaina was suddenly let go, with no real explanation.

🐶Malaina, her dog and her partner (who is battling serious health challenges) are now in a devastating situation: no income, no housing security, and no safety net.

They will be living in their car because of this.

🏠They have one month left in their Airbnb before they’re out—and the money they saved to move forward is being used just to survive.

💸I’ve started this fundraiser to help them cover rent, basic needs, and stay afloat while they look for work and wait on disability support.

The end goal is getting them to Canada.

❤ Malaina has always shown up for others. For the animals. For the movement that betrayed her. For me. Now I’m asking our community of activists, to show up for her.

Our National Animal Rights Day (NARD) 2025 event was a huge success! Over 30 passionate individuals came together to honor the lives of animals who’ve suffered and died at human hands — and even more joined us throughout the day as they passed by. The turnout and support from the community were truly moving.

We had a powerful ceremony, inspiring speakers, and an abundance of delicious donated vegan food thanks to our generous local businesses. Volunteers helped bring everything to life, and the energy of the day was filled with compassion, connection, and purpose.

This was more than just an event — it was a statement of love and justice for the animals. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and helped make this day unforgettable. 💚
