Multiple pathogens found in raw cat foods
Salmonella, cronobacter, pseudomonas, klebsiella, clostridium and E. coli were found in raw and partially cooked foods for cats, and some strains were antibiotic-resistant, presenting risks for cats and cat owners,

Contaminated raw pet foods pose hazards to people
The case of a young girl who developed severe hemolytic uremic syndrome linked to contaminated raw pet food highlights the danger of feeding pets raw food, which is prone to contamination with E. coli, salmonella and other pathogens. Cross-contamination can occur when people handle contaminated pet food and then prepare food for themselves or their families without washing their hands.
