Hey everyone! A very small puppy, maybe a week old, was found alone near Save On Foods in Cranbrook. In order to redeem, valid proof of ownership and puppy description are necessary. Contact 250-426-6751. Appreciation to all.

To conquer loose-leash walking, we need to take it one step at a time, and the very first one is the equipment you use.

Maren Bruun of Paw In Hand shares these three essentials to enjoying a loose-leash walk with your dog.

1️⃣Well-fitted harness: that is comfortable for the dog to wear.
2️⃣Long leash: Remember that it is important that you can safely and effectively handle it.
3️⃣Treat pouch with lots of treats: because there are plenty of things that compete for your attention!

We talk all about loose-leash walking at https://animalkind.ca/all-about-leash-walking/

*URGENT NEED for donations of dry and wet cat and dog food *

Calling all animal lovers in our community! Right now, there are beloved pets going to sleep with empty bowls, and the families who love them are doing everything they can to make ends meet. Through our Pet Food Bank Program, we help make sure no pet is left behind simply because times are tough… but we can’t do it without you.

We are urgently looking for donations of dry and wet cat and dog food to help support hungry pets right here in our community. Every bag or can you give goes directly back into the community, helping families keep their cherished companions fed, comforted, and at home where they belong.

Your kindness reaches far beyond one animal.
These donations support:
• Local pet food bank events
• Community partners like food banks
• Supportive housing programs
• Family and women’s centres

HOW?
➡Option 1: Drop off pet food at the BC SPCA East Kootenay Animal Centre during business hours
➡Option 2: Shop our online wishlist and have donations sent directly to us: https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2J8O6IN90Z27P

Any brand, any amount, it all matters more than you know.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing compassion to the most vulnerable pets in our community. Because of you, tails will keep wagging, purrs will keep humming, and families can stay together through difficult times. ❤❤

🙏 Thank you Thursday 🙏

We are the grateful recipients of the 2026 CFKR Grant to support our center and all the fun loving furries we care for.

Thank you to the incredible team at the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies! ❤️ And everyone who contributes to this important fund. Every penny makes an incredible difference for animals like this silly-cutie-nugget-pie Lottie .
