K9 Scentinels

K9 Scentinels Canada's 1st Nose Work Dog Sport Club! K9 Scentinels is a dog sport club training pet dogs in scent detection.

We encourage and support our members in participating for fun or competition in events under the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW), the Sporting Detection Dogs Association (SDDA) and other similar organizations.

Our June 13-14th SDDA trial at Twin Creeks is scheduled to open for entry tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for SDDA to send it out to RPs, but they have promised it should be soon. It is a lottery for the first 12 hours after opening, so no rush to enter in the first minute. If the opening date needs to be pushed, we will still honour the 12 hour window.
In the meantime, here is the pertinent information.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our SDDA trial in Agassiz, BC! It was a beautiful sunny weekend with gorgeous mountain views, and hopefully was fun for everyone! We were happy to see so many smiling faces and to give out so many ribbons, including:
- 4 new Started titles
- 5 new Advanced titles
- 1 CHAMPION title
- and 3 MASTER CHAMPION titles!

A huge thank you to our wonderful judge Lou-Anne Lambert for coming out from Alberta, not only to set fun and challenging hides for us, but also to mentor our local Apprentice Judge Lane Michie - who made many Started and Advanced teams happy this weekend as well!

Thanks to Bosleys, Oly's, and Paw Street Market for the wonderful donations that made up our Judges Choice/Screw the Q gift bags!

Last but never the least, many thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and club members for keeping things running smoothly all weekend, and of course a big shout out to my co-hosts Kathleen and Barb who helped make this incredible weekend happen!

Our Agassiz SDDA trial on April 25/26 has been re-approved now with Started added! The updated premium was sent out tonight.

Opening date is the same:

Now that the dust has settled a bit, we'd like to thank everyone who came out to our trial at Vancouver this past Sunday, especially our judge Danielle Getzie, shadow judge Debbie Wixalbrown and all the amazing volunteers who made the trial run so smoothly!
A special thank you to Simply Natural Raw Pet Food for the wonderful Judge's gift bags and samples for the day.
We were very excited to send home ribbons to 3 brand new Advanced titles:
- Chizuko and Caia
- Chizuko and PKC
- Nicola and Charlie
And so many teams who added more Advanced titles to their nosework journey! Congratulations to all and we hope to see some of you on Vancouver Island for our last Excellent trial for 2025.

Registration opens tonight at 7pm (for SDDA RPs) for the K9 Scentinels Advanced x2 trial at Southlands Riding Club in Vancouver on Sunday, Sept. 21st. Judge is Danielle Getzie.

Important note - As mentioned in the premium, there may potentially be horses 🐎 around the perimeter of the site as people walk them to and from the riding rings.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our trial at Agassiz this past weekend, especially our judge Kelly Ladouceur and all the amazing volunteers who made the trial run so smoothly!

We just wanted to send a belated thank you to everyone who came out to the March 15&16 trial at BCIT Burnaby Campus. It was a fun weekend with a cool venue that threw some surprises at us, but our wonderful judge, Danielle Getzie, and amazing volunteers were phenomenal at rolling with it and keeping spirits high!
A special thank you to Simply Natural Raw Pet Food and Charmaine for the wonderful Judges Choice gift bags plus treat sample bags for the check in table! There were lots of very lucky dogs getting extra goodies that weekend!
