All those paddleboard training sessions are paying off. Icon hasn’t managed to drown me yet.
He did however fall off trying to catch a dragonfly. He got back on through.
If you have a paddleboard and want to try it with your pup I’d be happy to help!

This package is great for loose leash walking, manners, beginhner to advanced obedience.

Time to debunk a myth…

“Old dogs can’t learn new tricks”

I regularly hear “My dog is too old to be trained” and mt reply is always the same “They are never too old to learn new skills.” Quite the opposite actually, I find a lot of senior dogs are eager to learn and it keeps their mind sharp.

A good example is my 12 year old retired girl, Aria. Last week we were called for some film work and she was required to learn new cues in a few days. She was so eager to learn, she had it down after a session and rocked her scenes.

So yes, old dogs can learn new tricks. Get in touch if you’d like some help!

I post a lot about Icon as he’s my current “try everything” sport dog but this post is dedicated to the dog that made me a trainer.

I got Aria as a pup at 9 weeks old, she chose me by latching onto my hair. I quickly came to realize that my hobbies (and life) would revolve around her in order to fill her needs.

I got my Security License and worked to get her validated as a Patrol K9 and later a Narcotics K9. I went on to become a dog trainer taking her through the program with me.

Aria got me into the film industry, working on set along side her and other dogs.

I started a Protection Sports Association club so that we could train and compete in PSA, where she acheived her PDC.

Aria then produced a litter of working Malinois pups to carry on her genetics.

In retirement, we began competing in Barn Hunt together, short lived because she decided she should get to keep the rats.

And today, she’s recognized for all she’s done with her Extreme Versatility Advanced title at 12 years old.

Aria currently spends most of her time napping on the couch, alerting us to everything the moves outside and keeping Icon in line, but she does have some projects coming up soon so she’s not done yet.
