🐾 Important Adoption Fee Update 🐾
To continue providing the high standard of care our animals deserve, the shelter will be increasing adoption fees for some of our animals. The cost of veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchipping, and medical treatment, has risen significantly over the past few years.
Adoption fees help offset only a portion of the care each animal receives while waiting for a loving home. These adjustments will allow us to continue providing essential medical care and support to the animals in our community.
Adoption fees are listed in each animals biography.
Thank you for your continued support and for choosing adoption. Every adoption changes a life. ❤️🐾

🏡 TAKE ME HOME TUESDAY
Meet Crumble - the sweetest little bunny with the biggest personality!
This social bun was sadly left abandoned in a unit, but she hasn't let her past dim her sparkle. Crumble is full of curiosity, loves attention, and is always ready to hop over to see what you're up to.
Her favourite things? Fresh fruits and veggies, fun toys to toss around, and spending time with her people. Whether she's zooming around, rearranging her toys, or looking for snacks, Crumble keeps life entertaining.
If you're looking for a friendly rabbit with lots of charm and personality, Crumble is ready to bounce her way into your heart and home!

🏠 TAKE ME HOME TUESDAY
Hi. I'm Gravy.
Yes, that's my name. No, I'm not served with mashed potatoes. Though I am comfort food in dog form.
I'm a handsome, solidly built fellow with the physique of a freight train and the enthusiasm of a dog who believes every day is the best day ever. I'm a strong boy, so I'm looking for a family that can confidently handle all this Gravy goodness. If you've ever wanted a walking buddy who can double as a personal trainer, I might be your guy.
I know my basic obedience, I'm house trained, and once I get the excitement of the adventure out of my system, I walk quite nicely on leash. The first few minutes can be a little "all aboard!" but after that, I settle into a much smoother ride.
I have what some might call a jazzy personality. I call it living life at full volume. I'm happy, fun, and always ready to see what's around the next corner. I can also get a little carried away when I'm excited and may jump up to say hello. What can I say? When I like you, I REALLY like you.
My ideal home will appreciate my larger-than-life charm, continue helping me polish my manners, and enjoy sharing adventures together. In return, I'll provide laughs, loyalty, and enough personality to fill an entire dog park.
So if you're looking for a dog who is equal parts gentleman, goofball, and locomotive, come meet me.
Warning: Gravy may cause excessive smiling, spontaneous walks, stronger arm muscles, and the sudden urge to tell strangers, "Have you met my dog?" ???

❤️🐾 Every Month Matters❤️🐾

Why does monthly giving matter so much? 🐾

Because animals need care every day - not just once.

Monthly donations help sustain:
❤️ Food and daily necessities
❤️ Veterinary care
❤️ Shelter support
❤️ Emergency medical needs
❤️ Programs that help animals and families

For a small organization like CDHS, reliable monthly support means stability and the ability to continue saying “yes” when animals need us most.

🩷 Tiny. Fragile. Wild. 🩷
This little pinkie is a baby mink, just days old and no bigger than a hand. A caring community member found this orphaned youngster without its mother and brought it to our shelter for help.
While adorable, wild babies require specialized care to give them the best chance at survival. That's why this tiny mink is being transferred to Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge, where experienced wildlife rehabilitators will provide the round-the-clock feeding and care it needs.
A huge thank you to the community member who stepped in and made sure this little one got the help it needed. ❤️
Remember: if you find wildlife that appears orphaned or injured, don't touch or attempt to raise it yourself. Contact your local animal services or a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for guidance.
Safe travels, little mink—we're rooting for you every step of the way. 🦦💕

🥰FEEL GOOD FURIDAY
I picked Chandler up right at 9am when Rens opened. Been hanging out with him in my bedroom and oh my goodness he’s just a sweet thang. His appetite is great and he’s had some freeze dried raw and wet food and he’s also good with water consumption thus far. He’s used the litter box too!
He’s extremely outgoing and trusting and we’ve already had some naps together.
We’ve played A LOT and that’s super exciting!
He’s doing a good job with grooming also.
So precious to see how well he’s adjusting to his new space.
I am beside myself lol. Can’t believe I have this incredible kitty.
His name is Grayson now:):)
