On a daily basis we are asked to take in cats from shelters all over Ontario that are at risk of being euthanized. All we need is loving foster homes willing to give an animal a 2nd chance and a temporary spot until their forever home is found. We look after all initial supplies and vet care and can provide ongoing food support whenever needed. We need fosters to be in or around the KW region as our vets and supplies are primarily in Cambridge. Fostering is great for students who can't have a permanent pet yet, seniors who would like the companionship but not the commitment or families wanting to see if a pet is for them. Please help us help them. Every life matters and right now there are many animals who need us. If you are interested in fostering cats, dogs, or small animals we will find the right match for you. Juno is approx. 2 years old and is a Great Pyrenees/Shephard cross. He came to us from an animal control where he was given up because his owner was homeless. He didn't have a lot of training but has improved since having routine and structure in his foster home. Juno knows sit, down and wait. He loves car rides. Since being in foster care his leash skills are improving but his new guardian will need to continue to work on his leash training.
He is not very food motivated by treats and seems to be very particular about his treats. He definitely prefers very high value treats.
Juno has been good left in a restricted area of the house as he does not like the crate and prefers to sleep out of it.
Juno gets along with the his foster brother very well, but slow introductions to other dogs is definitely better. Juno doesn't seem to know how to play with toys, he is watching his foster brother, but toys do not seem to interest him for very long.
True to his breed he is wary when new people enter the house and will bark. Teaching visitors the right way to greet him and let him come to them will help.
Juno does have a tendency to jump up when he is playing or gets excited. So young children will not be the best fit due to this because of his size. We are working on turning away and saying "off".
He prefers to be outside, so a fenced in yard or large property would be ideal. Juno will use the deck stairs but he refuses to go down into the basement. No issues coming in the side door and using the 2 or 3 steps to get into the house, but basement steps he definitely doesn't like and stays clear of them .
If you would enjoy the companionship of a friendly, large dog and have some time to put into his training and a fenced yard, Juno could be perfect for you! Please apply!

From her owner:

Hello I just wanted to let you know I have Evermore from her surgery. They only do one leg at a time so she can still move around and exercise her legs as she recovers. Due to this only her right leg was operated on. She's been home for about an hour and is doing fantastic. I have attached a photo and will keep you updated on her recovery. Words cannot express the gratitude and how blessed I am for yours and every one who help, and who said a prayer for her. She is my best friend and because of everyone's kindness and love, I didn't have to say my goodbyes. As I promised I'll keep you updated on her journey to recovery.

We are in need of puppy, dog, kitten and cat fosters. We provide all initial supplies and vet care. We have recently been asked to take in some puppies, several dogs and cats but we have no more fosters available. There are so many animals in need. They need your help! The surgery is now tomorrow. We have raised close to $1000 which is amazing but the surgery is $5000. Any amount helps us to recoup what we spend so we can help more animals in need. Evermore is a young cat and the choice was surgery or live in pain and have poor quality of life. We knew we could help with the support of all of you.
