Thank you SO much to everybody for sharing and inquiring! Kaia has now found a foster to stay with until her owner is back on their feet! Keeping animals with their owners, when possible, is a very important aspect of rescue that we strive for. ♥️

💔 “All Gone But Us” 💔

The room is empty now.
The toys are scattered, the beds still warm with the memories of kittens who found their families.
One by one, every single one left — carried out into a forever home.

And now, only two remain.
Han and Chewie.

They don’t understand why.
They did everything right. They played. They purred. They waited.
But nobody picked them.

So they curl into each other, the last two left from a family that has already been chosen and loved. They are only 2 years old (born April 8, 2023), yet they have learned the heavy silence of being overlooked.

Han (tabby & white) and Chewie (tabby) are shy at first. They won’t run to the front of the room. They won’t push their faces through the cage. But if you sit quietly, if you give them time, they will choose you back — with a love that is deeper than words.

They are bonded. They have only ever had each other, and to split them would be to break the only promise life has kept them: that they will never be alone.

Kaia is still desperately looking for a temporary foster home if anyone can help. She needs few stairs but otherwise per the owner is a great, easy dog. She gets along well with dogs and cats. Her vet care and food will be taken care of by the rescue and just needs a soft place to land while her owner is in crisis and can have her back.
